Is DCPS ready for Distance Learning? We asked teachers…
This is not a scientific poll, but does give us some understanding of whether we’re prepared.

First we asked a serious of questions about planning for Digital Learning…

Then we asked about access.

Since we’ve asked this, we’ve heard from many, many teachers that they have individual students who do not have access to a computer or have multiple students who will be sharing a single computer.

We also wanted to know if special ed and elective teachers were well prepared.

Overall, we believe there is a long way to go to ensure everyone is prepared for #DistanceLearning

… even as teachers have spent many hours this week – their Spring Break – getting ready.

And, as we move forward, let’s remember that our teachers have families and loved ones to care for.

And teachers are aware that gaps in learning will grow, leading to unfair evaluations of our schools and our teachers.
