#SelfIsolation has proven to be more mentally challenging that I expected. To stay connected, I am going to name one badass woman in my life everyday starting today so the world can also celebrate their awesomeness.
I'll start off with @BecksHewer. Though we have only interacted in the academic context, her #scholarship, and more importantly, #activism on #feminism and gendered policies inspire me to be a better #feminist.

Follow her if you want to hear about her intelligent feminist takes!
I wouldn’t be where I am today without @awe_dwee’s encouragement (and push). Dr. Audrey Verma is an amazing woman who has always selflessly offered her wisdom and experiences with those who share the struggle. She really is the giant whose shoulders I luckily get to stand on.
. @VMongey is an amazing friend and historian whose research on #diaspora is super interesting. I’m trying really hard to be patient as I wait to read her new book, Rogue Revolutionaries: The Fight for Legitimacy in the Greater Caribbean. Coming out soon with @PennPress!
. @may_darwich is a great friend I met while living in the #Northeast of #England. We both moved onto great opportunities since then. An @EdinburghPIR alum and a scholar whose research brings the #MiddleEast to the debates within #IR theory. Follow her on #ScholarSunday!
Finally got my butt off of the couch today and did some work thanks to @s_winkler_reid’s support! A fantastic anthropologist, her @GirlKindNE project is so cool and engages the community on so many levels! I’ve witnessed how girls of #Newcastle have benefitted from this program.
I've be friended @maythehan through our WoC network. I like her not just because of her dog, Frank! Her work on the economies and ecologies of dogs and their humans is possibly the most interesting research I've ever come across. Check her out at https://maythehan.com/
I am so fortunate as I found support within the @uoessps
community as soon as I joined @EdinburghUni. Dr. @GovindaRadhika is an amazing colleague and friend who is always supportive. Her work on #decolonization transcends scholarship and truly transforms the academic community.
. @DrShainaWestern is my new found semi-birthday-twin in Scotland! Really hope we get to celebrate together *in person* next year, but for now, check out her work! Her research seeks to understand the causes, nature, and limits of international cooperation: http://www.shainawestern.com/
#Day12 of voluntary #quarantine. #SelfIsolation has been bearable thanks to @dialect, whose words (and smile) are so uplifting! Her works on differences in speech among speakers of various social backgrounds have also given me plenty to think about. See ➡️ http://www.laurenhall-lew.com/
Today I read all publications in @PoliticsGenderJ in 2005 when the journal debuted. Came across important works by @labaldez, @CSnyderHall, @malahtun, @PippaN15, @MikiKittilson. Thanks to @RosieShorrocks for reminding me that they're the giants on whose shoulders we get to stand.
A shoutout to my #Newcastle friend, @loena, whose engagement in Northeast England is just inspiring! She knows so much about the histories, heritage, and architecture in the local communities. A caring, fun-spirited person I’m very fortunate to have met. 😊
In a virtual session today for @merylkenny's Politics, Power and Representation class, a student said she goes to Meryl's Twitter on bad days. Meryl speaks out about inequality and is a source of inspiration. Every institution needs a Meryl; I'm lucky to work in one that has her.
