So, here's the thing. I'm supposed to be launching a book (Date with Danger) 2 weeks today. But everything is cancelled. But you know what, I'm ok. I've just signed new contracts with my publishers. My immediate future is safe. So here's what I'm going to do... #BackABookshop

I'm going to spend the next 14 days supporting the brilliant bookshops who welcomed me with open arms when I was promoting the Dales Detective Series. Because right now, they need more promotion than I do... #BackABookshop

They're all different. And they're all brilliant. I hope you'll help me sing their praises... And help keep them going. Because without bookshops like these, we're all going to be poorer... #BackABookshop

Day 1: First up, the amazing @PlackittBooth. They were first to invite the Dales Detective Series into their community for an event. They're a fab team. And they're currently offering a free delivery service for those self isolating. #BackABookshop

Day 2: Take the stage @ebbandflobooks! Always a warm welcome from the lovely Diane, doing events here is a pure joy. Plus she introduced me to Chorley cakes So give the shop a call - orders being taken and deliveries available (some by bike!) #BackABookshop

Just to clarify ... ALL photos are of past events over the last 3 years. Which explains why I look so young (No coronavirus was spread in the taking of them!)

Day 3: A Big Fat Rascal welcome to Harrogate's @ImaginedThings! I had the honour of being their first event author (photo below!) & they also happen to sell a hell of a lot of my books!Currently taking orders and offering suggestions so go on, give them a call. #BackABookshop

Kind of lost a bit of heart for promotion yesterday with the madness in our area but today I've seen so many bookshops making the decision to close their (physical) doors, I figure they need my support more than ever. So here goes...

Day 4: A double-header of double brilliance: @drakebookshop in Stockton, who are doing amazing things within their community and @StripeyBadgers in Grassington, who have quickly become a vital part of village life. Both offering home delivery. So go on. #BackABookshop

Day 5: Run by a friend of a friend and a truly amazing bookshop, today's shoutout goes to @BookaBookshop
in Oswestry. I had the pleasure of doing 2 back-to-back events with them a couple of years ago & loved every minute. Currently offering home delivery. So go on. #BackABookshop

Day 6: Waving across the Dales today at @WhiteRoseBooks in beautiful Thirsk. While their shop door might be closed, they are still taking calls and emails for book orders, in this their 25th year! Let's make sure they have many more years to come. So go on, #BackABookshop

Day 7: A gem of a bookshop in stunning Corbridge, @ForumBooks is a must-visit! Had a brilliant evening there with Helen, her team and @erskine_fiona and look forward to many more! So go on, #BackABookshop

Day 8: Today's shout-out is for the wonderful @TheNewBookshop in Cockermouth. I think of them every morning when I drink my tea from the Herdy mug they gave me! They're working hard behind the scenes to keep folk stocked up with books. So go on, give them a call. #BackABookshop

Day 9 and I'm staying fairly close to home with a big fat Thank You to @GroveBookshop in Ilkley. They even built their own POS to display my booksThe team are still available for mail order so go on...give them a shout and #BackABookshop

Day 10: @GriffinBooksUK takes the stage today - a fabulous bookshop in gorgeous #Penarth. Seem to remember some stunning scones at the event we had there The team are still taking orders over the phone/online/through social media. So go on, #BackABookshop

Day 11 and it's another fabulous indie, @LitRiponBkshop A real delight to visit and work with (even if I did manage to lose my wedding ring at our first event together). They're closed for now, but you can show your love by calling in when this is all over... #BackABookshop

Day 12 and this wonderful indie is no April's fool Set in the stunning @ThePieceHall, Halifax, @BookCornerHX should be on everyone's list. They support indie publishers; when they get their doors back open, we should support them! So go on... #BackABookshop
