Doesn't seem like there's a Picasso or Van Dyck in this group.

Also had to wake up and play football with them and there was a rousing rendition of "Queen Watevra Wannabe", all before 7.30am. HELP!! #MummyTwitter

One of this largely untalented group is flapping his hands and shouting "Amma Pumpkin!". The other is dancing around, coughing, with cartarrh. She swears she's feeling well. Neither of them wants toast.

One is whispering (loudly) to the other: "the walls are white, like paper"

Puzzles! Wooden (so they're durable) and affordable. I got mine at Ebeano Lekki 1, but they're also in Lagos Island (if you wanna be brave).

Someone decided to be an alarm clock today. As in, he woke up and did the car alarm sound loudly. Then crowed like a chicken. And since he has thr lung capacity of Michael Phelps or Pavarotti, it was LOUD

Since we are awake at an ungodly hour, have decided we should all exercise. Got a Family exercise video and thought "this should be easy".

Day 5. Just distributed a general arsewhooping for fighting over toys .

Now setting down Classwork for the day. Math, English and some Science later on.

Day 8 of the shutdown.

Took them for a morning walk, get some Vitamin D, pick some fresh flowers for the house, run some tiny races for exercise. Yes, they did it in their PJs, so they get home and shower immediately.

Day 11. We've kind of adapted to being indoors a lot. Thank goodness for electricity.

Today we did sticky pictures! Tear up sheets of coloured paper, draw an outline with a marker and give them glue.

Our school has started Zoom classes and Google Classroom homeworks.

And they are gingered about it

Here is a tip: download Google Docs, so you can edit their homework on the screen, rather than having to print it.

We also downloaded educational shows ("Team Umizoomi" teaches foundational Math pretty well for example). Great Science shows include:

Day 30. Dear #SchoolfeesTwitter you are most likely resuming school online. Even if you go back to work. What's the plan?

1. Get a printer (decent printers can be had for N25,000. SPAR, Mega Plaza, Jumia), ink, paper

2. Hit the supermarkets for books (Ebeano has a great stock)

3. If you can't afford that, buy a ream of paper and black markers. You'll have to write/draw out worksheets.

4. Google worksheets according to age and curriculum your kids' school uses. It's usually British Early Years, Montessori and Nigerian curriculum.

5. Set a timetable.

6. Build a library. Again, Ebeano supermarket has enough. And I had a guy who gave me 50 books for different ages, for N12k. I even got Nigerian books from The Learning Tree, check online. Schedule reading/no tv time.

Channel 317 is showing classroom work but you have to sit down with them and explain what they're watching. They won't pick up as much if you leave them by themselves.

Get enough educational toys too. Even simple projects like planting beans to teach Science are good.

Day 34 #lockdownextension it's time for Fractions and bebe is killing it!
Reinforcing the concepts with our puzzles toys. Whiteboards markers tend to be hit-and-miss (half are dry, don't write well), so we went old school (they love the mess).
