Things are going to get ugly for the next few weeks, so I want to keep a running thread of things that I am grateful for right now when that time comes.
First up: I'm grateful it's springtime in Houston, which means I see beautiful flowers every day on my walks.
A thought to add to this: I'm grateful that my neighborhood is safe and walkable. My neighbors are out walking too (at a safe distance, of course), and it's nice to see people.
Even though I haven't had one in a while, I'm grateful for hugs! The next one I have is going to be so special after the wait.
Grateful that I had a spare can of disinfectant spray to give to my neighbors @QualityFeed so they can keep their customers safe!
Grateful that when some crappy songs came up on one of my Spotify playlists, I still had presence of mind to recognize how much they sucked.
Grateful for all the people I saw out and about on my walk today, and how we all acknowledged each other's humanity by crossing the street and keeping distance.
Grateful for the @casnhtx board, who are keeping it together in the face for what will surely be a huge crisis for reproductive justice globally (and who just voted on three new board members!)
Christ am I grateful for @HEB https://twitter.com/HEB/status/1240971585911128065?s=19
Grateful for @txrxlabs for mobilizing to protect doctors! https://twitter.com/txrxlabs/status/1241374995198160896?s=19
Grateful for this rain, which will keep more people at home over the weekend.
Still breathing. I'm grateful I'm still breathing.
Grateful that this pandemic has got me talking to my father again. We've been on the outs for years; maybe this can help us heal.
Grateful for my badass @casnhtx app team, who is pivoting like hell in the wake of our governor's dangerous decision to close abortion clinics.
Grateful I can still get mad as hell seeing a Packers logo in the background of someone's apartment on a call.
In more "never thought I'd say this, but": grateful that we're looking at temps in the high 80s in March, which might slow down this mother fucker.
The past few days have been hard for me, so I'm grateful that today has been better.
I'm going to hang onto this day.
I'm going to hang onto this day.
I'm grateful for all the life flight helicopters I hear heading towards the med center, but in truth, I wish I heard them less.
Think I'll start counting the ones I hear. And the sirens.

SERIOUSLY I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR @HEB https://twitter.com/dansolomon/status/1243182131578355712?s=19
Grateful the weather is nice and I can have the windows open tonight.
Now I just need to put down this damned phone and enjoy it.

Grateful that @GoodDogHouston was selling a lil fresh produce. Will tide me over while I wait for my curbside pickup date.
I am so grateful to see workers @Instacart, @amazon, @WholeFoods @generalelectric, and more use their power to push for safety and the greater good.
Grateful that I had a solid four years of intensive therapy that have prepared me emotionally for this disaster. Honestly think I'm adapting pretty well?
Grateful for the magic that is @HEB curbside they call you about substitutions and you don't even need to get out of your car.
(Yes I realize about 30% of my gratitude posts are HEB related idc idc)

After cooking two nice meals today, I feel so grateful just to have fresh food. Making sure to donate for those who don't have that right now.
Pretty much every time I think of something to put in this gratitude thread, I'm sending money somewhere. This pandemic is making me keenly aware of my vast privileges.
Lol pretty grateful I never finished that PhD right about now.
(jk I am always grateful for this)
Grateful to the good kids over on UT Twitter who dunked on their fellow classmates for travelling on spring break and spreading COVID-19.
Oop, and STILL grateful for the creative, supportive actions coming from @HEB https://twitter.com/jodyschmal/status/1245714592082296835?s=19
Grateful for @that_bint_ni_lo. I always come away from our phone calls bursting with ideas. Thank you for always being my practical support sounding board.

Doing some photo organizing to keep myself busy, and even though many folks in my life have come and gone, grateful for those who have been around a long, long time.
