So, there are now multiple domestic quarantines and travel restrictions in Australia. All attention is on Tasmania this morning, as it should be; Norfolk Island was first a couple of days ago, followed by Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
Given how many cases are in Sydney and how few are down here in the Illawarra, I'm waiting for border posts to go up in the Royal National Park any day now.
Australian domestic quarantine watch: WA has quarantined its remote Indigenous communities. State border still open.

Meanwhile, Bob Katter is calling for North Queensland to close its border. What border? Well, if the separation movement had succeeded yet, there might be one!
We've got our first state/territory border closure on the mainland, and it's not the WA one that people kept expecting/joking about. It's QLD/NT: https://twitter.com/JoshBavas/status/1240875029623009282
The latest from Tasmania's Bass Strait islands: Flinders Island airport is now closed to all but essential flights, from anywhere including mainland Tasmania. https://twitter.com/manjusrii/status/1241204954796183552
The Northern Territory has now implemented a similar quarantine to Tasmania. A subsequent tweet explains this also applies to people returning to remote communities from elsewhere within NT: https://twitter.com/justintfenwick/status/1241238120172908544
As of 5am this morning, Lord Howe Island, part of NSW 600km east of the mainland, is quarantined. Non-residents are only permitted to leave, not arrive, with narrow exceptions. https://twitter.com/ncasmirri/status/1241537248161460226
Biggest domestic quarantine so far! SA and NT have also made part of WA's decision for it: crossing the land border to the east now means quarantine no matter where you do it. https://twitter.com/ElspethHussey7/status/1241546921988124673
The domestic quarantines just keep coming. Here's the one everyone anticipated: WA. Effective at 1:30pm on Tuesday. https://twitter.com/perthnow/status/1241593941696405506
Queensland is the next state to jump. Still awaiting details.

This leaves VIC with no quarantine, NSW with no quarantine except for Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island, and the ACT says it cannot but has urged against all non-essential travel. https://twitter.com/AnnastaciaMP/status/1241917471881224192
There are also quarantines within Far North QLD. Police have implemented roadblocks to stop non-essential travel to Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands, which have no cases yet: https://www.tropicnow.com.au/2020/march/22/cape-york-in-lockdown-due-to-coronavirus-fears.html

And the local councils approved this: http://www.torres.qld.gov.au/documents/17442/fa4202f7-6eb7-438a-a91
SA and WA are both now CLOOOOSED, to each other and the rest of the country.

I also, uh, might be trying to convert this thread into an article. Might as well make this collation of quarantines worthwhile. https://twitter.com/gabby_marchant/status/1242323209145335808
Everybody is focused on Queensland's quarantine starting at midnight tonight, but there is already an internal quarantine in Far North QLD: Cape York & Torres Strait have been quarantined since 5pm Sunday, with entry permits required from 5pm today. http://www.cook.qld.gov.au/coronavirus/coronavirus-latest-news
Here we go, another domestic quarantine: northern WA. In terms of quarantines *within* states, it joins Cape York/Torres Strait in QLD, Lord Howe Island in NSW, and numerous remote Indigenous communities nationwide, some noted above (h/t @AngryWagtails). https://twitter.com/ErinParke2/status/1242983680835907589
Noises getting louder from North Queensland about quarantining that portion of the state from the rest of Queensland. Note that Matt Canavan back in 2016 remarked (as minister for Northern Australia) that he believes North QLD statehood is inevitable. https://twitter.com/TJ__OBrien/status/1243059210813714434
A whole network of intrastate quarantines is coming next week in WA: https://twitter.com/kagij/status/1243395518606086149
WA is getting even more serious about shutting its border. So far the quarantines of remote Indigenous communities and of islands have been fairly tight, but not of mainland state borders. That looks set to change. https://twitter.com/abcnews/status/1244518148868435968
QLD's enforcing a harder border from 12:01am tomorrow too.

It has fewer internal quarantines than WA: Cape York/Torres Strait, Palm Island, Mornington Island, a few other remote Aboriginal communities. Bob Katter continues to huff and puff about Nth QLD. http://statements.qld.gov.au/Statement/2020/4/1/stronger-border-controls-imminent
South Australia might be about to tighten its border restrictions.

Just want to take this moment to thank @AngryWagtails, @OperationalInc1, and others who've notified me of border announcements. Yes, I'm writing up this thread as something more formal. https://twitter.com/PMalinauskasMP/status/1245865371069845504
