1. Ajay Sharma: Shahrukh revolutionizes the Hindi film hero by throwing his lover off a roof yet remaining the character the audience roots for. He is cold, calculated yet there is deep pain underneath. A true blue Anti-hero!
2. Rahul Mehra: Shahrukh plays a psychotic stalker who will go to any length to win the affection of his love. He talks to his dead mother on the phone, he carves his lover’s name on his chest and constantly harasses her family. One of his darkest portrayals.
3. Raj Malhotra: Shahrukh gives a new meaning to love in this film. With his unflappable charm, humour and intensity he becomes the ideal lover. A lover who emphasizes the importance of family and wins everyone over.
4. Amarkant Varma: Mani Ratnam thrusts Shahrukh into one of the most intense stories of his career. Shahrukh ably goes toe to toe with Manisha Koirala in her career best performance. The climax is absolutely chilling.
5. Devdas Mukherjee: Shahrukh wears his heart on his sleeve in one of his most intense performances. He beautifully captures the inner turmoil of the character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s larger than life Devdas. From his entry to his death, Shahrukh is absolutely magnetic.
6. Veer Pratap Singh: One of the most iconic romantic characters ever written in Hindi cinema. Shahrukh is at his absolute best portraying the gentleness of the character. Every dialogue that comes out of his mouth turns into magic.
7. Mohan Bhargav: In one of his career best performances, Shahrukh does a wonderful job capturing the spirit and soul of NASA project manager Mohan Bhargav. The journey this character goes on is phenomenal. The train scene is heartbreaking.
8. Kabir Khan: Chak De India is the ultimate redemption story. Kabir Khan is blamed for India’s defeat. Yet it is he who coaches the Indian Woman’s hockey team to glory. Shahrukh does a fantastic job in bringing this character to life. The climax is brilliant
9. Rizwan Khan. Shahrukh delivers one of his most heartwarming performances as Rizwan Khan. He nails the mannerisms of the character through months of research and makes us feel for Rizwan. The church scene moves me to tears
10. Gaurav Chandna/Aryan Khanna: In his most complex role, Shahrukh nails a terrific double act of a obsessive fan and an arrogant star. The battle between the two is one for the ages. The jail scene is some of the best acting of his career!
11. Aman Mathur: Shahrukh’s comedic timing hits its peak in Nikhil Advani’s heartbreaking Kal Ho Naa Ho. Him and Saif are a hillarious Duo. While him and Naina break our hearts.
12. Sunil: Shahrukh is very relatable as the loveable loser. He doesn’t get the girl in the end but he wins our hearts with his gentleness. The last scene is heartbreaking.
13. Dr. Jehangir "Jug" Khan: Shahrukh is a breathe of fresh air in Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi. His wisdom and charm is off the charts.
