The Taylor is west of Port Alberni, on the way to Tofino & Ucluelet. There is a rest stop with picnic tables & a public restroom with composting toilets.

i saw a lot of vehicles heading west, maybe unaware that Tofino & Ucluelet have kindly asked visitors to keep away.

There were quite a few people at the rest stop (most of them smoking, ugh) and the restroom smelled gawd-awful, but the rest stop was not my objective. There are trails behind the restroom where most folks don't bother going.

unlike a lot of the dense, dark coastal rainforest around here, this stand has an airy, open, kind of storybook feel

Astute Twitter followers have no doubt picked up on why i like that fly-fishing game so much. Sometimes i don't even fish in that game, i just stare at & listen to the water.

The Taylor River Rest Stop is a staging & dumping area for the snowplow/sanding trucks who work the very snowy Sutton Pass just to the west of here.
