the way i imagine #kamishinjirou is that shinsou and jirou started to fall for kaminari first for their own reasons, like how the little things he did always somehow put a smile on their face even on the shittiest days and how caring he was for them

so they both develop a crush on kaminari and neither of them are really good at hiding it so it’s very obvious to the both of them, which causes some tension especially since neither of them have had a crush before

so shinsou and jirou kind of get off to a weird start, because they’re kind of awkward don’t really know what to say, like, what /do/ you even say to the person who has a crush on the same person as you? it’s totally bound to get awkward fast, right?

instead of trying to face it, they just generally avoid each other, which in turn, upsets kaminari, who is completely oblivious to the pair’s feelings for him because his two favorite people very obviously avoiding each other, so what’s he supposed to do? he can’t let that happen

kaminari, always the people person, takes any chance he can get to get the two to hang out with each other (with him there of course, he doesnt want to push them and make them uncomfortable) whether it be taking them both out for ice cream or maybe just a movie in the common room

but still, shinsou and jirou can barely even look at each other, completely puzzling kaminari because he’s tried so hard to help them bond! he doesn’t know what to do anymore so he becomes very obviously upset (annoying the bakusquad in the process, especially bakugo)

shinsou and jirou are like oh shit! because they KNOW it’s their fault, kami has tried so hard to help them bond but they’re both way too stubborn and they DEFINITELY don’t want bakugo on their ass so they decide to take action and make sure they can AT LEAST look at each other

this proves to work a lil too well because once they force themselves to actually talk to the other, they find they a lot have a lot in common! just little things like music tastes and stuff like that but it’s enough for them and they accidentally talk for way longer than planned

the mood shift is almost instantaneous and the next time kami sees shinsou and jirou, he’s clearly overjoyed because they’re actually talking to each other! and it isn’t small talk either! he can’t help but pull them both into a group hug, which is awkward but they love it anyway

things seem like they’re normal again, or well, normal enough. but shinsou and jirou’s feelings for kaminari are still strong, so they know they can’t keep pushing it away. However, they don’t want to spring their feelings on kami and make him choose between the two

jirou suggests that they /should/ tell kaminari their feelings, since it will make them feel worse if they bottle it up, but assure kami that he doesn’t have to choose between them or anything, and that they just wanted to tell him but shinsou still seems apprehensive about it

shinsou is nervous, he’s never had a crush before, and he knows jirou hasn’t either, but she still seems like she’s handling it way better than he is, however, jirou puts a comforting hand on shinsou’s shoulder and she just smiles reassuringly without saying anything

something inside shinsou clicks and he knows he’s fucked completely. all he does is laugh nervously because he has no fucking clue what to do now and he feels like the weirdest person ever because he’s pretty sure he isn’t supposed to have a crush on both kaminari AND jirou

jirou understands that shinsou is nervous, but she doesn’t notice his face pales a little bit then heats up when he looks at her. she says they should tell kaminari as soon as they can so they can just rip it off like a bandaid yknow?

finally noticing that something is off about shinsou, she just assumes he’s still nervous so in an effort to make him feel a little less anxious, she says that she’s noticed he’s been curiously looking at her instruments lately so

if shinsou really wants to, jirou can teach him how to play some of the instruments after classes that day. despite everything in his brain telling him to distance himself whenever he has a problem, shinsou agrees awkwardly anyway, completely betraying himself

so now shinsou’s predicament is: he really isn’t sure what to do because his mind is still kind of reeling from the recent realization he’s had not even 5 minutes ago. sure, he has been wanting jirou to teach him how to play some instruments, but now he isn’t sure he can face her
