I want to take the time over the next little while to shout out to some local small businesses I love. I know it won’t matter from an economic standpoint, but nice words are the best I can do to brighten their days.
First up, my friends at @ladymrestaurant - lovely, good people, making the most delicious brunch in town. I don’t get there often enough, but it’s perfect every time I do.
And since I’m shouting out breakfast spots, @MadDogCafe has Montreal bagels (YES!) and wifi, heaven for a quick breakfast on work from home days.
Living the next few weeks without @Eds_Real_Scoop is going to be rough on all of us.
And I can’t say enough great things about my perfect local bookshop, @QueenBooksTO, with their cozy, perfectly stocked kids’ section and wonderful selection of pretty much anything you’d ever want.
That’s a start for now. If you have a minute, tell your local small business that you love them. It might not help in a tangible way, but it’s always nice to hear that your work makes someone else happy, right?
And then there& #39;s @ReidsDistillery, makers of delicious gin and now, hand sanitizer too!
Did you know that Mezos restaurant on the Danforth is offering to donate one free meal to those in need for every in-house take-out order? Those are some good people, right there.
Eeek. Typo in the above. Mezes is the restaurant.
I didn& #39;t know I loved quiche until @BonjourBrioche. They make the most wonderful quiches and tartes and baguettes, and I can& #39;t wait to go back. #lovemylocals
Revisiting this thread to add to it. Shout out to @LittleLondonBBR, where the super talented barbers make my little dudes feel very grown-up, cool and handsome. They are always both cool and kind. Can& #39;t wait to go back after all this! #lovemylocals
