Social Distancing, a running thread:
Day 1: Last thursday (03/12); announcement that major offices should work remotely - that includes mine! Cool, time to bring home my laptops and get my desk re-organized.
Went to Costco for some basics (maybe not necessary, but knowing what I know now, it was the right choice).
Day 2: Will school be closed, won't it? Turns out, it will. Time to start prepping for being confined to a house with a 6th grader. It won't be that bad, right?
Day 3 & 4: spent the weekend cleaning. re-organizing my closet. TONS of laundry. My house is the cleanest its ever been, I'm pretty sure.
Day 5: time to set some actual goals. I'm at 10 books read this year, per my New Years Resolution - I can get to 15 before the end of the month, right?
Brought the guitar up to my room. 30 minutes a day practicing, minimum.
Workout twice a day. Perks of having a home gym.
Day 6: I did all of things yesterday, AND snuck out of the house to go on a hike last night, for my own sanity (and hiking is practicing responsible social distancing. I saw a grand total of 4 people and 3 dogs.

but.

I. am. so. fucking. bored. already. more to come.
Day 6 (cont’d): I invited all my friends over to try the Irish Red Ale I recently brewed, for #StPaddysDay - as you can see in the photo, they’re all here enjoying it with me. #SocialDistancing #cheers
Day 7: ground is a-shaking.
Day 8: Super busy with work, which I think is a blessing? But I realized today would normally be haircut day. And my barber is closed. And even if he was open... nah. This is going to get ugly.
Somebody talk me down.
Day 9: the kiddos 12th birthday. I felt so much guilt all week knowing that he wouldn’t get to celebrate with anybody but me. But we made it work. Birthday breakfast, lunch, tacos for dinner, games in the evening. Thanks to everyone who FaceTimed him. Can’t let this get us down.
Day 10: it is absolutely beautiful outside. Snuck away to Yellow Fork Canyon for a hike. I saw a handful of people.. but it was nice to get out and breath fresh air.
Day 11 (morning): I absolutely refuse to download tik tok.
Day 12: school cancelled until May 1st. Nothing like quality one on one time 24/7 with a 12 year old for 7 weeks 🙃
Played this song for the kiddo, but changed it to “School’s out for London” and have been singing it over and over in the house. We’re doing fine over here.
Day 13: How does one balance battling an awful depression day, while still being there/supportive for a kid who is probably as distraught and tired as I am?
Day 14: 🤬
Day 15: I forgot what day it was (thought it was Wednesday, again) - no repercussions though, so that's nice. More snow. More loss of sanity 🙃
Fucked around and forgot what day it was again. Hello, Weekend! 👋
Update on day 17: I’ve been on a classic rock kick: Fleetwood Mac is fucking good.
Day 18: did not watch the tiger show. Nope.
Day 19: I’ll be doing this all day:
