Just got a survey call from the Department of Health, Government of Karnataka checking on my health status and requesting me to self-quarantine since I traveled to Bangalore from the US less than 14 days ago.

So glad to see steps being taken.

Recorded message ( IVR) with options in 3 languages. English, Kannada, and Hindi.

Glad it wasn’t just in English and Hindi.

Just got another follow up call. Same content. Different number. Ended with a recorded message from Dr Ballal of Manipal Hospital urging me (people) to stay home and self quarantine rather than crowd hospitals if there are mild symptoms.

Just got reminded of the DD Chandana anchor’s name - Shankar Prakash - the IVR is recorded by him. Same person who is the anchor at all major events by GoK and is better known as the male voice on Namma Metro :)

8:50 AM, 19th March - next call. I am now on Day 13 since I landed. Same content. Same number as the first time.

I will memorize the content soon. Small price to pay if this helps combat the virus.

15:23 , 19th March. Follow up call #4 - frequency is increasing now.

So, I must have missed the call because well I’m working from home and have been on Zoom/Hangouts all day. I got a message from the Health Department with a link to a Google Form!

14:00 24th March - got a call from BBMP asking when I landed and if I’ve been “sealed” - I haven’t.

They asked me for directions and are on the way here. Better late than never I guess.

They visited. No seal since I’m past the 14 day mark. However, I was given a copy of this. The back has the same content in Kannada and has my details filled out.

17:30, 24th March - follow up call from local police station. They had no idea who has visited or when I have landed or from where.

Wish they updated their system or spoke to each other. It’s getting a wee bit irritating now, but small price to pay.

18:48 - 27th March, follow up call from Local police station. Poor cop sounded as worried about my health as I am.

So amazing

12:50, 28th March - call from cop from local police station who knows my name and recognises my voice. He checked in like @ron_riddle or @clichedhandle would. Super casual and BFF-like. Impressed and grateful

12:50, April 2nd - call from Sub Inspector of local police station checking on me again. He checked if I have symptoms and I’ve been visited by anyone from his station. Thanks to this thread, was able to provide time stamps for most instances.
