I highly recommend the game Wingspan if you’re looking for ways to pass the time with your friends and family. It’s one of those rare games that involves both luck and strategy in equal measure.

The publisher says ages 10+, which seems about right. Maybe a very precocious 8 year old could play? Regardless, there is no upper limit.
Cosmic Encounters is pretty good, too.
