Starting a thread about food I prepared in preparation for—and during— #coronavirus #SocialDistancing.

The chest freezer we bought 8 years ago when my son was coming home from the NICU and we had a frozen breast milk storage freak out is stocked.
Hummus with za’atar. h/t to my friend Sasha, who passed along the recipe 10 years ago.
Banana, bran, chocolate chip bread with walnuts.
Okay, this is just a cheese robot.
Pao de Queijo. (I mistakenly bought 5 boxes of tapioca flour/starch a few months ago so this is a perfect time to use it up.)
Carnitas
Didn’t have the kale, green beans, or cilantro so we’ll see how parsley and scallions do. https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/green-lentil-curry
Roasted veggies with za’atar
Whole Wheat Everything Bagels!
Polenta Cacio e Pepe with Chicken Adobo.

Chicken Adobo recipe earlier in the thread. Polenta recipe is here: https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/polenta-cacio-e-pepe
No Knead Beer Rye Bread (didn’t get sufficient rise) https://www.thespruceeats.com/beer-rye-bread-no-knead-3062240
OK, so it’s not that pretty. But baking a chocolate cake from scratch was one of my daughter’s #coronavirus bucket list. (Also, the frosting debacle was all mine.) https://www.marthastewart.com/340315/one-bowl-chocolate-cake
Adventures in sourdough.
Fried up the leftover sourdough starter with some green onions—throwback to an earlier tweet about my regenerative green onion bounty. Dipped it in soy sauce. Couldn’t be easier.
Adventures in sourdough #2. Rye and caraway.
Whole wheat sourdough pancakes of all different kinds. (As a person with strong completist tendencies, using up the discard is very satisfying.)
Arugula pesto!
Left: Patrick Ryan’s lovely 100% Rye Sourdough

Right: My first attempt
The last few weeks have been filled with some sourdough fails. This homemade pizza somewhat counts because the dough wasn’t great but it did the trick.
Gave up on the sourdough experiment.

Made chicken biryani with egg tonight. Yum.
Monkfish in a tomato-garlic sauce with sautéed greens.
Chicken bhuna masala.

This is really, really good. https://myheartbeets.com/chicken-bhuna-masala/
I can tell August was rough by my lack of food posts.

Zucchini soup brought to you by the Italian Grandma on YouTube.
Spaghetti aglio e olio with whole wheat spaghetti, once more brought to you by the Italian Grandma on YouTube.
When the cinnamon roll batter for my daughter’s 7th birthday breakfast was too wet to roll out I went for cinnamon roll cake! Celebrate 🎉 https://www.thespruceeats.com/no-yeast-cinnamon-rolls-recipe-4843397
