This exemplifies the extreme difficulty of establishing causation in a potential lawsuit stemming from the spread of the disease. Gobert was tested before Mitchell but this, alone, does and can not rule out the scenario that Mitchell may have actually gotten it beforehand.
For what itâs worth, Gobertâs microphone touching incident occurred on 3/9, a full four days after Mitchell was at the Boston casino. The casino was concerned enough that they felt the need to publicly announce that a recent guest, presumably Mitchell, tested positive.
Same goes for the child who was diagnosed in Rhode Island. Per reports, he tested positive after - among other things - getting an autograph from a Jazz player on Friday, 3/6.
