Guys, my Pawpaw’s in the hospital. He was supposed to have surgery to get his leg amputated (diabetic), and they haven’t even had to surgery yet. Smthg’s wrong. His kidney’s are shutting down, he’s got fluid around his heart and lungs, and he won’t wake up.

Prayers would help.
They moved PawPaw to ICU at 1AM this morning. No other updates yet.
Okay! So, last check-in, he's awake &able to answer questions. He also urinated for the 1st time in 2days. Both REALLY good signs. The pulmonary doctor is coming in about the fluid. They have to get this under control before the surgery to remove the leg causing all the problems.
whoooooo!!!! He’s cleared for surgery in 45mins so they can remove the lower half of his leg, just below the knee.
THE SURGERY WENT WELL!!!!!!
Update on Pawpaw— it’s not good. Also, I wish my MIL would learn to use punctuation.
No real updates. His CT went well. Going to the hospital after work to camp out in the waiting area with family until they kick us out.

Was telling my manager and keeping her up to date, and I got through and just heaved a sigh, "I am so sick of hospitals."

I really am.
The ICU waiting game is a fun one in this situation.

The doctors are doing their jobs, but the coin’s in the air because his recovery depends more on his body than their treatment.

So we’re just... waiting. To see what happens. And if he’ll make it or not.
When my cousin was in the hospital, tensions were through the roof as the doctors were in a break neck speed race trying to save her life, it was a constant battle & adjusting tactics, leaving you biting your nails and doctors working long hours.

This is much slower and calmer.
Said I had to go to the bathroom & my husband asked if I knew where it was. I was like, Sweetie. I just spent a couple of mnths living here & at the other one while mom had her surgeries. I also was here for mnths when not at work when my cousin was here. I know this place BLIND.
I am really sick of hospitals.
Updating this thread.

04/12/20: Pawpaw tested positive for Covid-19

04/13/20-04/14/20: Overnight he nose-dived and is on 100% with a NDR. Still no visitors allowed, so he's been alone for a month in the hospital, and he's alone right now.

Today really, really sucks.
