we'll be fine all we need is for Americans to:
-care about people besides themselves
-understand long articles or graphs about hospital logistics
-listen to domain experts
-comprehend exponential growth so they won't downplay small doubling numbers
-make sacrifices to help others
just gotta
-prioritize long-term thinking over short-term convenience
-pay attention to what's happening in other countries
-consider how what hurts disadvantaged people impacts everyone
-band together to cooperate on a common cause
-remain calm, without ignoring serious problems
if anybody can do these things, it's us
-place more importance on health and wellbeing than business profit
-not buy flights we don't need merely because they're cheap from failing to account for societal costs in pricing
-stay in for meals and entertainment
-care for our seniors
we can rest assured that we're in good hands with competent leadership making tough choices, telling us the truth, and looking out for the best interests of citizens
in conclusion:
-yes, this is a real thing, take this seriously, do some mild/calm/non-panic prep, worst-case scenario get peace of mind you won't need to at a point when it gets harder to do
-we're a week behind Italy, except literally handling it worse than anywhere in the world
