When Keith's heat had reached its most uncomfortable state, he excused himself to his room, and nearly everyone else had to physically restrain themselves from following him there in the hopes of doing something entirely inappropriate.

Surprisingly, it was Pidge who cracked first. Keith was holed up in his room during the worst parts of his heat, and as she walked past his door (it was a coincidence, she swears), she could smell his scent wafting from inside his room.

It literally made her mouth water and pupils dilate, the scent overpowering, and she swore it had notes of pepper and something earthy and rich. It was mild and hefty, like how the air feels heavy and steamy after light rain over scorching ground.

She swallowed and couldn’t stop her legs from moving on their own, towards Keith’s door. She put her hand against its surface, attempting with all her might to resist, to not intrude on Keith because she just knows,

the second that door opens, she was going to charge right in. She hasn’t been on alpha suppressants since they left Earth and currently she was trying very hard develop new ones with the help of Coran and Hunk, for all of their sakes.

But it was taking longer than usual. She was growing more and more irritable, her patience wearing thin, and she could tell that the others were struggling too. And Keith was ‘right’ there, dripping with pheromones.

She swallowed a nervous gulp again and breathed in deeply, tasting the omega as he saturated the air with his scent. It was very quiet on the other side, but it was still early in the night cycle, so she knew he couldn’t be asleep yet.
