Here’s the thing that people don’t seem to grasp.

Donald Trump won because he was radical.

There is a huge population of marginalized people that have felt unheard in American politics for a long time. Trump courted them by rejecting the status quo with them.
Centrism = the status quo.

And when you have groups that are tired of the status quo deciding these elections? Then perhaps centrism isn’t the path to take.
Because when these groups were tired of the present, Trump promised them a return to tradition.

Bernie offers them a direct path to a better future.

Both of them court people through radical ideas, but the reality is that Bernie will be able to reach far more with his message
So before you go for the “electable” candidate, I want you to stop and think:

Are they actually electable? Or are they just a severely watered down version of the radical ideas we NEED right now.

Centrism is not electable for many marginalized populations. Radicalism is.
Because the status quo that centrist candidates promise? It’s the same environment that allowed for Trump to get elected.

People felt unheard for a long time, and to them, Donald Trump gave them a voice.

All a centrist candidate would do is make them feel silenced once again
So before you denounce Bernie, ask yourself who you’re denouncing. It’s not a small group of radicals. It’s a large, diverse group of working/middle class folks that are tired of the status quo.

Do you truly care about them? Or will we remain hostage to the present?
