A thread of all the times JK has been a little 🌈🌈🌈
Disclaimer: I am absolutely not trying to put a label on JK. Labels are for soup cans, anyway.

This is just a thread of all the times JK has made me, as a queer person myself, go 🤔🤔🤔

If that bothers you, the block button isn't hard to find! 💜
Before we continue: I challenge all of you to try and cut the heteronormative mindset that so many people still have. Instead of talking about a male idol's future "girlfriend", talk about their partner, lover, or significant other! It's much more inclusive!

That being said...
1. His G.C.Fs.

I figured I'd get this out of the way first, since it's one of the more obvious and widely discussed forms of 'proof'. JK is an incredibly talented videographer and director. He's also very clever with his song choices and lyrical placement. +
GCFT and GCFS are probably the most telling examples, however we see aspects of his clever storytelling in ALL of his GCFs.

One could argue that his use of There for You by Troye Sivan was based solely off of him liking the song and wanting to support a +
queer artist from the POV of an ally, which I might've been inclined to agree with, had the mood and story set in the first GCF not continued on through subsequent videos.

But it did. Repeatedly. The song choice and lyrical placement was no accident or oversight. +
2. His (old) Spotify Playlist

Unfortunately all of the boys' spotify playlists have been updated to be exclusively BTS songs, but prior to MOTS 7, we had lovely playlists from each member with songs they recommended to us! JK's playlist was ESPECIALLY interesting. +
His playlist is FILLED with queer artists and allies. Again, one could chalk this up to JK being an ally himself and wanting to support queer artists, but some of the song choices are a little too... specific.

+
Bea Miller and MAX are loud LGBT advocates. Bebe Rexha, Kim Petras, and Carlie Hanson are openly queer. Kacey Musgraves' song, "Rainbow", has been used as a queer anthem, much to the artist's delight.

These are just the ones I know off the top of my head. +
The implications of the specific song choices are also telling. The lines "It's the kind of love they say is wrong" in Back in My Arms, coming from an LGBT artist, is very informative. "Do Me" is an interesting choice for... obvious reasons. +
Placing "Find Yourself" directly before "Rainbow" tells a cute story of self-acceptance. Ending the playlist with "Love Me Less" reads almost as if JK is saying 'Would you love me less if you knew the truth about me?'.

It's a shame his official playlist is gone. +
3. "I decided to live as me"

This one gets overlooked a LOT. In BV3, JK seems to be reading a book by Kim Soo Hyun, the screenwriter that wrote the first gay couple into a K-Drama back in 2010, and is a very vocal ally for the community. The book focuses on encouraging +
the reader to live as themselves and love themselves. It's about self-acceptance.

Maybe it wasn't JK's book. Maybe he wasn't actually reading it. We'll never know. But if he was, it's an interesting choice of literature, wouldn't you say?

+
4. I'm Still Me

Ever seen the movie "Love, Simon"? If you haven't, it's a story about a boy coming to terms with his sexuality and seeking acceptance.

In the movie, he says the phrase "I'm Still Me", which became, arguably, one of the most popular quotes from the script. +
Some time after the release of the movie, JK posted some of his art on twitter. One of the pieces he shared last year included a graphic he designed with a very prominent "I'm Still Me". Interesting phrase to use as inspiration for an art piece, huh?

+
5. Blue Monday

This one is a little less obvious. If you aren't aware, the New Order song 'Blue Monday' was adapted as a bit of a queer anthem and was popularly heard in gay bars and clubs throughout the 80s-00s. It had a bit of a resurgence when Orgy covered it. +
The pendants on JK's sweater during this performance of Mikrokosmos are called the 'Blue Monday' charms, and were made in direct reference of the original New Order song.

"JK probably didn't pick those pendants. A stylist probably did!" Fair argument. We'll never know +
either way if one of their stylists chose the pendant or if he did, but we DO know the boys have had a say in their outfits in the past. It's not impossible that he chose them, or a sneaky stylist that knows him personally may have chosen them on his behalf. +
Either way, the pendants are a cute nod to a song that was widely popular in the LGBT community for many, many years.

+
6. Desire

For their holiday vlive special before JK came of age, JK was asked if he had anything he wanted: any desires.

He pointed at a particular person here, which resulted in a bit of panic. JK said "I think you know what I mean" to the camera after. Very cheeky. +
7. Girls.

Can you think of any instance of JK openly gawking over a girl or talking about being interested in any? Probably not. Over the years he's been pretty dismissive of girls, to the point of comically avoiding them at times. A lot of people chalk this up to him +
just being shy--which is fair! Believe me, I get it. Still, you would think that eventually, he would cave and show some interest in girls. Instead, he's done things like refer to blatantly sexy GG performances as 'charming', and focus on a girl's voice over her looks +
when an interviewer was obviously trying to get him to admit to a crush. He's referred to an MC as his 'type' upon being asked to avoid answering the question directly. He's made up excuses (multiple times) about not knowing an actress's name when asked about a celeb. crush. +
Not to mention him admitting he would just walk right past a pretty girl at school.

Again, you could just chalk this all up to JK being shy and respectful, but I'm more inclined to believe he's just not all that interested in girls. +
8. His covers

This ties in a little bit with my earlier point about his playlist. JK definitely seems to be the sort of person that speaks through his music, and his choice of covers are no different.

One cover of note that he did was Fools, by Troye Sivan. +
He did this cover as a collab with RM, and if you haven't heard it, PLEASE look it up. After you do that, please go and watch the actual MV for Fools.

If you don't know, the MV explicitly highlights a gay couple struggling with severe homophobia and discrimination. +
This is only speculation, but I've always been inclined to think either JK asked RM to cover the song with him, or RM suggested it in the first place as a form of expression for the former. RM has showed time and time again how supportive he is of the LGBT community, so +
It's not surprising that JK would choose him to do a cover with, especially given how much JK has always looked up to RM.

Fun side fact: Bang PD was the one to introduce them to the song. He boasted about introducing the boys to it on twitter.
9. More music suggestions!

JK loved to play music on his vlives. On one particular vlive, he was vibing to Honey, by Kehlani. If you don't know, Kehlani is another openly queer artist, and Honey is a blatantly queer song. +
Again, this instance could be easily dismissed as JK just liking music regardless of the sexuality of its artist--which would be commendable! However, the fact that he seems PARTICULARLY drawn to listening to and promoting queer artists is... interesting. +
Another instance of him acknowledging/promoting a queer artist would be his very recent little recreation of a small part of the choreo for Sam Smith's "How Do You Sleep?"

Minor, but again: interesting.
For context: This was during the segment where the boys were casting their own votes for iHeart, and the question was "Best Choreo in a MV". The group unanimously chose HDYS, and JK and JH immediately started doing the choreo, so we know that is exactly what he was referencing. +
10. Rose Bowl

I fought with myself about including this, because I don't want this thread to seem biased and thus filled with decidedly Jikook-centric moments, but... Rose Bowl is way too big to leave out. It, in my opinion, is one of the most "not-straight" things JK +
has ever done.

"sToP sExUaLiZiNg iT! iT's sKinShiP!" No. Stop. Hugging? Holding hands? Cuddling in general? That's skinship. Rubbing someone's arm or running your fingers through their hair? That can be considered skinship. SUCKING THEIR EAR? That's not skinship. +
The ears are an erogenous zone in adults. If you've never had the (literal) pleasure of having someone suck, lick, nibble, kiss, or breathe on your ear, then let me tell you: At the absolute minimum, you're probably going to get goosebumps. It's a very intimate gesture. +
Mind you, intimate should not be confused with sexual, here. It's a prime example of how deeply close JK is to JM. If this were the first instance of this exchange, JM's reaction would have been completely different, but he seemed to know exactly what JK was doing, which means +
it VERY likely wasn't the first time JK had done this to him.

That level of intimacy with another person of the same gender should tell you something about JK.

+
11. Regardless of Gender

This one can EASILY be written off as JK being inclusive, but I felt it should be included anyway because the mentality behind it does have decidedly queer/ally implications.

JK promotes wearing clothes regardless of gender. +
In a very simple way, JK here is shutting down prospects of toxic gender stereotypes and encouraging people to be themselves and wear what they want. Again, while not an exclusively queer statement, this mentality is certainly MOST prominent in the queer community. +
12. Imagine Dragons' Speech

I'll keep this one short because it's ultimately minor. I was reminded of BTS's reaction to Imagine Dragons' speech about conversion therapy in the US, and Kook's reaction specifically. If you pay attention, you'll notice that when +
they mention LGBT, he pauses, and then actively begins nodding his head and showing approval for the rest of the speech. While it's hard to say if he understood everything being said, he had a very noticeable reaction to the mention of LGBTQ.

Another instance that +
can easily be written off as him being a decent human being recognizing of peoples' rights, but I felt it was worth mentioning!

+
Okay! That's it for now! I'll come back here when I have more to add! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Also, I'd just like to take this time to reiterate: This thread is not intended to be used to put a label on JK. I'm just pointing out instances that make me personally think he isn't straight. You don't have to agree! ♥
