My cousin was arrested for a botched robbery & murder in 2006. He was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison by @RepKathleenRice when she was Nassau County’s DA

In 2010, his conviction was overturned.
His conviction was overturned because at the age of 16 he was functionally illiterate and coerced into signing a confession.

@RepKathleenRice used her key witness, who had credibility issues, to convict my cousin. Her witness later recanted their statement.
With a coerced confession and recanting witness, in 2008 @RepKathleenRice appealed to uphold his conviction using the statement of the recanting witness. He stayed in prison for 2 more years.

Luckily for my cousin, Terrell Clinkscaleas, her flimsy prosecution was overturned.
In this election cycle progressives are being told to #VoteBlueNoMatterWho.

I reject that, in 2016 & 2018 I unknowingly voted for @RepKathleenRice to go to Congress.

I didn’t know, she abused the racist criminal justice system, or used it on my own family.
This November I will not #VoteBlueNoMatterWho.

I will not vote for @RepKathleenRice because she used a recanting witness and a coerced confession to ruin my cousin’s life at the age of 16.

If she has a primary opponent I will support them instead.
The takeaway from this story is we should thoroughly research our elected officials and candidates at all times.

Both the DNC and GOP are capable of putting up candidates who are terrible people with terrible records.

We should not #VoteBlueNoMatterWho
