Twitter LISTS kind of suck, so I've been working on a way to sort through the tweets in a twitter list and surface the good ones. Short THREAD.
I take a twitter list, download all the members of the list, and calculate each persons average tweet statistics, like the average number of retweets and 'likes' they get. Also, the median, and the deciles (10th percentile retweets, 20th percentile retweets, etc).
Then I look at all the new tweets in a twitter list, and surface the tweets that are performing at a certain level (say the top 20th percentile).
Actually, the algorithm self adjusts to try and keep a relatively steady stream of good tweets at a target frequency, say 1 good tweet every 5 minutes, or whatever I think is appropriate. But the self-adjustment maxes out at a certain level.
I'm going to start a thread with election related tweets, since today is Super Tuesday. I think I'll also do it for coronavirus.
I have a continuously updating thread of #SuperTuesday results here: https://twitter.com/tommyHotpockets/status/1235032876351205380

The list I am using is here: https://twitter.com/i/lists/928054326223953920
I am continuing the above thread to now track election related news (not specifically super tuesday). The list referenced above has been expanded.
I've also started a new thread related to coronavirus based on the list here: https://twitter.com/i/lists/1234354716374683649
The #CoronaVirusExpert thread is here: https://twitter.com/tommyHotpockets/status/1236146868184387589
