Now to figure out how to mount this thing and shape the wood appropriately....
Atlanta has a maker space where I could use their woodworking tools...or I could break down and call my carpenter buddy (the simpler option)...

I think I’m going to mock up a few possibilities in cardboard first to see what I can do with my basic tools.
Another option is to use a piece of plywood (already have it) and completely rebuild the top panel as a rectangle.
This would make mounting easier but would also require me to rip out all the guts from the controller.

Still working on this RetroPIE/Raspberry Pi home arcade.
All the main hardware & software are a go, now I’m finally getting started on the “cabinet”.

Turns out I either need a circular saw or a larger mitre saw. I can only get about half way through a 2x4 on one pass.
I have to flip the board to complete the cut and the edges aren’t really perfect. It’ll do for now, just something to keep in mind for later.

I’ll frame the “cabinet” in 2x4s and either finish it in MDF or whatever inexpensive board I can find at a big box store.
I’ll probably stay away from plywood though. I don’t think I’ll get clean cuts.

Also, I finally have a real world/practical use for geometry. So there’s that.
Uneven cuts on one side. I’m going to try to sand them down to get them to match. If that doesn’t work, we cut the ends off, ensure the lengths are the same, and take another shot at the angles cuts.
Figured it out. Compound mitre saws...move. Angles are straight. Cuts are clean. Time to sand away the rough edges.
Yeah....the geometry is really coming in handy right now.
Haven’t updated this thread in 2 months. Still making progress on the build.
My woodworking skills are lacking so I turned to the internet to have someone cut the cabinet parts for me.

I’m currently staining the wood, building a bracket to hang it from the wall, & sorting out all the electronics.
