Ok so, as bkdk continue to repair their friendship they start hanging out more & more; going jogging together, watching movies, grabbing lunch with each other. Just bros being bros type shit

Then one weekend when they both go back home for a visit, bkg asks deku if he

wants to go on a hike together and Deku of course agrees.

They meet up at the playground they used to play at as kids and when deku asks where they’re going to go hiking katsuki tells him to ‘shut up and just follow me, nerd’ so that’s exactly what deku does.

It doesn’t take Deku long to figure out where they’re going though. It’s a path they’d traveled often as kids and one that was a pinnacle point in their broken friendship.

They’re both silent as they slip through the area of downed fence that had never been mended,

the ‘no trespassing’ signs faded and weathered with age. They don’t speak as they travel along the over grown trail, long grass tickling at their legs and insects buzzing in their ears.

When they finally reach the downed tree that’s still suspended over the river and acting as

a bridge to the other side, Katsuki stops and glances back at Izuku, freezing him in his tracks.

He doesn’t say anything so neither does Izuku and the silence hangs heavy between them.

Finally, katsuki takes the first step onto the tree, walking across it with the same

confidence he’s always had. Izuku stays rooted to his spot, watching his lifelong friend, not understanding what’s happening but feeling the significance of it.

Katsuki stops half way across and sits down right on the log, legs dangling over one side. He looks back at Izuku

once more and asks ‘you coming or what, deku?’

Izuku doesn’t answer but but the question jolts him out of his frozen state and he walks across the log to join his friend, taking a seat beside him once he reaches the midpoint.

They don’t talk at first, just stare down at the

flowing river below them. Eventually, katsuki breaks the silence with a heavy sigh before saying ‘I was a real shit to you’

Izuku’s head whips up and he stares at the other boy. It’s not an apology but it is an admission and with Kacchan that’s somehow even more significant.

‘Yeah,’ he finally agrees, not knowing what else to say.

‘You didn’t deserve it,’ katsuki says, another admittance.

‘No,’ Izuku agrees again.

Katsuki gulps, silent for another few moments before he speaks again.

‘I didn’t take your dumb hand back then but I’d like to take it now,’ he says and holds his hand out between them.

Izuku can do nothing but stare, not quite believing what’s actually happening. Time seems to drag between them but when Kacchan starts to grumble and retract his

hand, Izuku finally reacts, surging forward and grabbing the other’s hand and squeezing it tight.

‘Oi, don’t knock us off the damn log!’ Katsuki complains but the relief in his voice his obvious.

Izuku just smiles up at him, tears sparkling in his eyes. He scoots a bit closer

and tentatively leans his head against Kacchan’s shoulder, relieved when the other boy doesn’t stop him.

They sit together, hands clasped and leaning against each other until the sun is low in the sky, the colors of sunset adding to the tranquility of the moment.

Izuku smiles to himself, thinking that maybe it’s metaphor for the tumultuous period of their relationship finally coming to an end but the rational side of himself knows he’s probably just being emotional.

‘Pretty, huh?’ Kacchan asks, breaking Izuku from his thoughts.

He’s obviously talking about the sunset but he’s staring only at Deku as he says it.

‘Yeah, it’s perfect,’ Izuku responds, mind not anywhere near the sunset.

When Katsuki leans in, Izuku meets him halfway and their lips seal the fate of their fresh start, their future side by

side. Hands and lips and souls locked together as they’ve always longed to be.
