Stay at home. If you have been in possible contact you need to isolate yourself and someone in protective clothing will come take a confirmatatory swab. https://twitter.com/DrSdeG/status/1233715830170562561
You should isolate yourself if possible contact for at least 14 days, but if very unwell you will need to be seen, and need to phone for help. Either you will be seen at home by someone in full protective gear, or taken to hospital safely-
Whatever you do don’t turn up at a GP surgery if there is a chance of contact, sit in a waiting room, have a BP check with a nurse, and then say ‘ bye the way, I might be a contact’...
Or call your GP on a House visit for flu without mentioning that you might have had contact. Otherwise we will have no functioning GP surgeries very quickly. Please.
If you can’t get through to overwhelmed 111 you can phone the GP surgery for advice. If you are self isolating and have been in a high risk place you need to be in daily phone contact with you GP surgery to check in how you are .
If NHS direct /24 are overwhelmed with calls that’s one thing Govt can do now- put in extra lines, extra call handlers, even use the retired GPs for advice, or ask GP practices who don’t already to exceptionally field their own calls
Good news that swab surveillance is starting in Scotland now.

Self isolation seems to work. This is personal anecdote. Shetlanders were always very good at not visiting each other with cold a flu symptoms - In 2000 we had an outbreak of type A flu North. 5 of us got it. 5 of us isolated ourselves, and no one else got it.
And this is why we need to slow it down.
And the problem with starting testing late- or not testing. https://twitter.com/drrcoull/status/1236552854418096129?s=21 https://twitter.com/DrRCoull/status/1236552854418096129

After stops starts and confusion, testing of symptomatic over fives starts again, but Shetland is a bit different.
Most of it is self testing with swabs which are delivered.
https://twitter.com/nicolasturgeon/status/1265897715764006924?s=21 https://twitter.com/NicolaSturgeon/status/1265897715764006924
https://www.facebook.com/114113640226540/posts/147294766908427/ This is a more than a wee bit complex, and not as simple as phoning the GP and getting a swab done.
The main thing is that if you are symptomatic- stay at home- self isolate immediately.
Follow the NHS Shetland links to get swabbed.
Stay home.
Don't travel unnecessarily
Stay away from crowds and crowded spaces.
Don't mingle if you can avoid it.
Personally I'd continue to wear a mask in shops etc. https://twitter.com/TomPMarshall/status/1266279113406332931?s=20
Personally I am a bit confused regarding the variety of testing.
I suspect GPs swabbing in their car parks might have been a bit cheaper/faster/easier than 'drive-throughs' and home testing. The question of the false negatives doesn't go away https://twitter.com/mgtmccartney/status/1266359408247713793?s=20
