People are actually trying to say Joe Frazier was one dimensional like Deontay Wilder. Wilder never learned how to box he relied on his Opponents more then anything else. If he had been fighting in a better era he would never had a high knockout percentage.
2. Deaontay Wilder never knew how to set up his right hand; he never developed a jab or did anything clever in the ring. The guys he knocked out were there to be knocked out they couldn't avoid anyone's right hand that's why he fought them. He had a built up record.
3. Joe Frazier on the other hand had a great deal of knowledge on how to get inside and work. He used head feints and slipped under his Opponent's punches. Often times he got them to flinch with upper body feints and then step inside and work. He knew distance and timing.
4. Many people say Joe Frazier was just a left handed Boxer but that's not true at all. He used his right hand all the time digging into the chest of his Opponent. Early in his career he knocked out the same amount of Men with the right hand as with the left.
5. Deontay Wilder never learned how to box; his strength came from his Opponents not knowing how to protect themselves in the ring. I wouldn't doubt the great Light Heavyweights of the past would have beaten him up never getting hit by that right hand.
6. Great Boxers like Tommy Loughran would have had an easy time with Wilder moving towards his right hand while jabbing into his chest by the right shoulder to prevent it from being thrown. Wilder's clumsy attacks would have been suited for someone like that.
7. The great Boxers of the 1920's and 30's would have take that right hand away by moving towards it utilizing the jab. You can see Joe Louis and Loughran do that to James J. Braddock very effectively. That right hand wouldn't have scared old time Veterans of the sport.
8. At best Deontay Wilder was a fun spectacle but you knew it was going to end badly. He wasn't a bigger puncher than David Tua or Sam Peter to his credit though he did stay in shape unlike them and was able to stay unbeaten longer but he wasn't fighting experienced opposition.
9. I wanted to see Deontay Wilder retire undefeated but it didn't happen he had one fight too many and reality caught up with him. That's what Boxing does it exploits Athletes like him making them feel better than what they actually are. It's the ugly side of Boxing the big lie.
10. Deontay Wilder isn't a great Boxer and his right hand wasn't the greatest in Boxing long history. He was exploited like so many other Men who wanted to be Boxers and so were his Fans. Hell man, you got scammed into seeing more then what was really there. You know this.
11. Just let it go, it's not the first time the sport of Boxing exploited an Athlete and the Fans of that Athlete but really you just got to let it go. He made some money and got some fame; we need to leave it at that. There's really nothing more to say.
