/ Why I support Joe: His healthcare policy speaks to me. His plans to make social security solvent in the long term & raise benefits for its most vulnerable recipients (like me). That he’ll appoint a Black woman to SCOTUS. That he will appoint pro-choice judges & defend Roe. https://twitter.com/Gladwad1/status/1232759780135112705">https://twitter.com/Gladwad1/...
/That he will keep the House & help us regain the Senate, which Bernie or Warren will cost us (as 6 news outlets have reported). VAWA—Joe’s groundbreaking initiative that’s the only protection my indigenous cousins have against non-Native abusers. His plan to double Pell Grants
/His proven record on banning assault weapons & taking on him lobbies, helping save us from a depression by helping lead & implement the Recovery Act & helping get us the ACA. Joe’s student loan forgiveness polices are very good, but most importantly, they’re DOABLE. His empathy
/The fact that Joe knows we can’t address environmental problems w o a global solution—& he helped negotiate the Paris Climate Accords & was one of the first to help get a massive decrease in emissions. That Joe has the support of our base, & you can’t win w o them.
/Joe’s rural broadband plan—which would be a $2B investment & create 250K jobs. His unerring support for unions. His support for a $15 minimum wage. That he’s the only 1 left talking ab institutional racism. How long term support for the LGBTQ+ community. His kindness.
/Joe’s plans to triple $ for T1 schools (the most disadvantaged), raise teacher pay, & stop profiteering by for-profit college & private lenders. His loan forgiveness program for public servants. That he will keep his promises & has support on both sides of the aisle to do it.
/The respect world leaders have for Joe, & that he helped negotiate the Iran deal & get troops home after Afghanistan. That he understands issues thoroughly, gives thoughtful nuanced responses, & is open to other ideas—not a rigid demogaogue. How genuinely nice he was to me.
/His plans to help the disabled community by increasing $ for the IDEA Act, making sure we don’t get discriminated against w our healthcare, & his plans to provide end of life care & give us dignity & respect. His commitment to closing the racial wealth gap.
/That he is ready to lead, unite, & heal our nation on day one—there’s no time for on the job training. That he knows what to do in tough situations. That he believes no elected official is above the law & would create a new org just to ensure abuse of power can’t reoccur.
/Joe’s commitment to end redlining, to make our criminal justice system work humanely. His micro loan/grant programs to ensure our farmers are successful, promise to end tariffs, & support for overtime pay & union rights for farmworkers & domestic workers (like caregivers).
/Joe’s $1.3T plan to rebuild the middle class & revitalize infrastructure, so we can also compete globally. His belief & leadership by example that character is on the ballot. That he took the time to befriend a young boy w a stutter bc that’s who he is.
/That Joe feels he has to earn votes, not that they are owed to him, & he respects & fights for everyone. That his support is the most diverse coalition & represents America & Democrats. That he dedicated his life to public service. That he was the impetus behind ending DOMA.
/That Joe will reinstate DACA & has a very detailed plan to make campaign finance reform reality, & it’s more thorough than some who brag ab having plans for it. That he will provide ab $400/month in tax credits to help pay for healthcare & ab double the help for many families
/That I’ve met & been on the campaign trail w most of the cands, & only Joe + 1 other (who isn’t running anymore) didn’t blow me off. That when I asked 1 cand (Warren) this very painful ?, Joe didn’t ignore me & only talk ab healthcare being good:
/That he’s our very best chance to save our democracy, & he’s the one the GOP is most afraid to run against (that should be very telling). That he spends his time taking pride in our party & stumped for our Dems, instead of calling us names & acting like a bully.
/I have receipts for this & more, & your comment seems short-sighted. The Black community shouldn’t be taken for granted, & their pick is mine. You won’t get zero student debt, period; no one can pass that, nor is free college a right or good idea. But equality is, & that’s Joe
/I’ll go w Joe’s plans to make sure every child has access to qualify education & equal opportunities over promising the moon (to many who don’t even have a legitimate reason for ā€œfree everythingā€) & delivering nothing. & I will vote as the base does. #Biden2020
/Joe listens--he has now promised to reform bankruptcy law & allow most students to attend public universities tuition free. And this: https://twitter.com/natashakorecki/status/1248323734068436992?s=20">https://twitter.com/natashako...
