The thing about this pointed refusal by @MBuhari to yank the reins of a murderous rogue paramilitary force stomping our streets is that I genuinely believe that Buhari and his people have only the worst intentions in mind.

It is the only way they know. It's their training.

F-SARS as we all know, reports directly to the President via the Inspector-General of Police. They are not subject to oversight from state CPs.

This means that Aso Rock is knowingly and repeatedly instructing a rogue armed unit to carry out gratuitous violence.

Why?

Do a retired military general and his military friends not know what this will lead to over time? Do they not have access to high quality predictive analysis from local and foreign analysts?

They clearly do.

So the use of SARS as a terror weapon is deliberate in my assessment

I believe that the regime of Muhammadu Buhari is intentionally trying to provoke the most volatile demographic in southern Nigeria - angry young men - into full scale civil disobedience and riots, as a pretext for introducing emergency martial law.

In my assessment, Mr. Buhari and his advisers see the most vocal and robust opposition to their misrule of Nigeria as a coalition of intellectual, traditional and social media and political interests concentrated in southern Nigeria.

I believe this is their containment strategy.

Problem ReactionSolution is a tried and tested military strategy, whereby whoever can create a problem that will provoke a certain reaction will be able to suggest a contrived solution.

In this case Problem = SARS, Reaction = Breakdown of law & order, Solution = Martial law

To this end, I have to plead with those of you with influence on ground to appeal to any young men with intentions of entering a head-on conflict with the @PoliceNG to stand down.

This is exactly what they want.

You might "get" a few of them, but how many? And what comes after?

For emphasis let me repeat this:

I believe the SARS rogue unit is acting under specific instructions to provoke you. Of course they themselves are dumb meatheads who don't see that their bosses are using them as pawns. But you should.

Please do NOT riot. They're counting on it.

And for anyone in Aso Rock who still has influence and is not completely insane, I encourage you to carry out a macro assessment of the situation.

Nigeria already has 4 active fronts fighting 5 armed hostile groups.

It won't survive a new front with 2 million angry men.

One phone call from Aso Rock could have ended this in 2017, 2018, last year, last week, yesterday, 2 hours ago...right now it still can.

But that call will not be made.
