šŸŒ Top 10 of the Billboard Social 50 - A Thread Pt 3 šŸŒ

We are less than 24 hours away from our 10th week rank in the BS50, our most crucial since SB19 entered the chart.

With that, welcome to the last part of this BS50 thread trilogy.

This thread is a collection of insights from weeks of examining our position in the chart.

If you love reading insights of fellow Aā€™TIN like I do, read on.

@SB19Official
When it was announced that we ranked 11th last cycle, iā€™m sure everyone realized that the Top 10 might not be that elusive after all.

But are we really that close? That might not necessarily be the case.

@SB19Official
From understanding how the BS50 chart works (pt. 1), we should know by now that there are still a lot of factors affecting our rank that remain out of our control.

Remember the GRAMMYs week where we ended up on the 24th spot?

@SB19Official
Also, did you notice that during the cycle after the Superbowl, Shakira and JLo, who were both nowhere in the chart, suddenly ranked #2 and #4?

Aside from the tweets generated from the event, the performance lead to massive streaming of both artistsā€™ discography.

@SB19Official
Anong point ko?

At this point, we may be the most vulnerable to the aftermath of these events in the global music scene.

This is because SB19, unlike most acts on the chart, is yet to stand on a global platform & Ppop is yet to become a global genre.

@SB19Official
We remain to be one of the least followed twt accounts and we are yet to generate adequate Pandora streams, casual or fan-driven.

Unlike other acts that can enter the Top 10 after just a news or single perf, SB19 is yet to become a global act to gain such power.

@SB19Official
Truth is even if we have doubled our social metric stats, we can still slide down the chart tomorrow.

Until now, we are dependent on these so-called ā€œfluctuationsā€ - comebacks, performances, and even inactivity of some major players in the chart.

@SB19Official
Looking at our negative stats last cycle that took us to 11th, we might have, this time, benefitted from these ā€œfluctuationsā€ instead of being handicapped by it.

By accepting that we still do not have full control over our rank, what could be our major takeaway?

@SB19Official
One is that if we slide down the chart despite our powerful improvement this cycle, thereā€™s no use getting frustrated.

Frustration is useless on something we do not have full control of. For now, ganoā€™n talaga.

@SB19Official
Whatā€™s important is that we did our best, and like what I previously said, iā€™m sure God will do the rest šŸ™šŸ½

If we remain out of the Top 10, letā€™s move on immediately, do our usual fangirl work like using tags, voting on MYX, and talk about how talented SB19 is.

@SB19Official
By accepting that we canā€™t control everything, we can also work on the things we can control, which I believe is already happening ā˜ŗļø

& looking at how fast we keep on breaking our 24 hr tweet count record, I think Twitter is yet to witness our true power.

@SB19Official
If after tomorrow, maging mailap pa rin ang Top 10, we have to start accepting that charting in the BS50 is seasonal.

Take NC/T 12/7 for example. They were charting below SB19 during their hiatus but suddenly zoomed way past everyone to a comfortable 3rd spot...

@SB19Official
...after just a comeback announcement.

Ang point ko - there will be cycles in which our chances of doubling our usual stats is higher than a regular week. Itā€™s a matter of determining what those cycles are.

@SB19Official
For example, I think we have a higher chance of producing enormous social media activity on the week of album release on March assuming that there will be promos, tours, guestings, menpa during the countdown, & a full album to stream in Pandora.

@SB19Official
Iā€™m not saying we lie low if we are not on those identified ā€œpeakā€ cycles.

As long as it feels natural to tweet, go ahead. Kahit ako di niyo ako mapipigilan dumaldal šŸ˜… And our record breaking 600k tweets yesterday still feels natural, fortunately for us.

@SB19Official
Every week is crucial but what iā€™m saying is we strike harder on more crucial cycles.

Remember when I shared that we had the highest mention and retweet per follower ratio on 1 cycle of the BS50? The ratio will still normalize.

@SB19Official
So rather than treating each cycles equally, we have to be smarter and plan ahead as we approach a more crucial cycle.

Reallocating our strength could help us achieve another goal - be the LONGEST CHARTING Filipino act on the chart.

Ika nga ni Jeff, ā€œmainstayā€.

@SB19Official
Accepting seasonality could also help the boys rest. With that, I hope we can be more careful in our demand for content from them.

Rule of thumb - whatever feels natural. The boys should create & release content based on the natural flow of their creativity.

@SB19Official
Kung natural sa kanila ang regular Menpa and vlogs, then itā€™s a win-win for us!

But on times when itā€™s not, let us allow them to take indefinite hiatus because theyā€™re artists and the last thing we want them to feel is burnout over demands from work & fans.

@SB19Official
Until now, iā€™ve been talking about my insights if we donā€™t get to the Top 10.

BUT WHAT IF WE DO? šŸ˜

Hereā€™s the thing - thereā€™s a possibility that nothing would change after we enter the elite Top 10.

@SB19Official
After all, there isnā€™t an existing guide for this. What will happen is not written anywhere.

But thereā€™s also a possibility that EVERYTHING will change, that SB19ā€™s career will take a 180 degree turn to catapult them to global attention.

@SB19Official
This feat could be a big deal not just to us but to SEA as well if indeed they are the first SEA Act on the Top 10. (iā€™ll leave the confirmation of this to @billboard).

At the minimum, iā€™m expecting Jeff to fly in here to fulfill his promise of an interview.

@SB19Official
(or Billboard can fly them to the US instead šŸ˜®)

But then again, BS50 is just a regular chart if not for the opportunities that comes with it.

Iā€™m more excited on the opportunies that it will open for the boys than the rank itself.

@SB19Official
If youā€™re not yet convinced on the importance of even tagging @SB19Official at the very least on your tweets, please know these opportunies are what gets food on their table.

Yes, just by mentioning and copy-pasting tags.
Also, their rank on the BS50 could be used as a leverage to negotiate for a higher pay & as an Aā€™TIN who understands how difficult it is to earn money these days, sobrang liit na bagay ang mentions, RTs and tags.

@SB19Official
Remember, opportunities that will knock on their door after this could be the one that would allow them to buy massage chairs for their parents, the one that would allow them to buy a car so they wonā€™t fear getting mobbed in public anymore,

@SB19Official
the one that could reunite them with their loved ones who were torned away from them, the one who could make their dreams as performers come true.

Honestly, looking at our stats & the global events for this cycle, it looks like the odds are in our favor.

@SB19Official
But we can only hope for the best. Like what I said, there are things that are out of our control but if God gives this to us and to the boys, then it is ours.

If not, then forever pa naman tayo rito so iā€™m sure our time will come šŸ˜‰
