So I decided to listen to all the albums of the Gorillaz (excluding any remixes or stand alone singles) and I want to give my general impression of each album. I'm not gonna go deep into the themes of each album and I might not listen to each album in one sitting.
For their first album, this was pretty solid. Songs like 19-2000 and Clint Eastwood are instant classics while other songs felt like precursors to what future Gorillaz music would sound like. (1/2)
The downside tho is that some songs felt like background noise. They weren't bad, but I wasn't too crazy for them either. Good album, but it's definitely not one the best albums the Gorillaz have to offer.
Overall: 7/10

bumping this score to 8 btw
Oh boy, here we go. First, the positives. Some songs like ascension and strobe light were pretty good, and I do find myself visiting Saturn Barz and andromeda once in a while. Also, Ticker Tape is way too good to be a bonus track. (1/4)
Anyway, that's all the nice things I gotta say about it. Now I can easily say "feature bad" and that's it, but I don't think the problem is the quantity (PB had a ton). I think the underlying issue is the quality of the features. Too many of the features take too much of- (2/4)
Plastic Beach is the first album by the Gorillaz that I listened to and it's what got me into listening more of their music. Before then, I only knew about Clint Eastwood and Feel Good plus a few others here and there. This is honestly another masterpiece. (1/3)
The amount of features on this album is fucking insane. You got people like Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, and so much more. You would think that this amount of features would be a hindrance to it, but it's actually the opposite. They actually enhance the entire album. (2/3)
I debated whether or not to review this one since it's essentially a diary made by Damon on his iPad, but might as well. For what it is, it's not bad. There's some decent songs in here with Womak in Phoenix being underrated imo.
(1/2)
Overall, it's not amazing, but for a free album, it's fine I guess. 7.5/10
(2/2)
The Now Now sorta feels like a apology album because this one has almost no features and most of the songs on here have Damon's vocals. This is honestly a step up from Humanz, but it's still not great either. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad album. (1/3)
The album is pretty good and I found myself vibing to most of the songs. That being said, the problem with The Now Now is that it's way too consistent. Every song has the same feeling to it and the album never really throws any curveballs. (2/3)
This feels like Damon played things too safe with this album, which isn't Gorillaz imo. Gorillaz is at its best when Damon is willing to take risks and churn out something unique, but this album just doesn't have that. Better than Humanz, but it gets a 6.5/10. (3/3)
