Of special interest here is Nizamuddin Auliya's stance that Hindus were condemned to the fires of hell & came to India for the specific mission of Jihad and even gave a 'magical arrow' to an Army general. The Sufis of India had no contradiction w/the Ulema.

Even famous Sufi Khawja Moinuddin Chisti was no different. His followers would bring a cow to a Hindu temple, slaughter it, and cook kebab from its meat to show their contempt for Hinduism. He directly participated in Ghori's campaign w/'Army of Islam' against Prithviraj Chauhan.

Amir Khusrau, of Tabla and Qawwaali fame, showed delight in describing the barbaric slaughter of 30,000 Hindus in the conquest of Chittor. He wrote "the heads of Brahmans... danced from their necks and fell to the ground to their feet and blood flowed in torrents."

The story of Sufism is no less violent in Bengal.

In instances of large-scale conversion in which Sufis were involved, their roles were to incite the rulers into unleashing violence and cruelty on non-Muslims leading up to those conversions.
