THREAD. Gender Dysphoria (GD) is in the 5th Ed., Diagnostic & Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-V), the definitive U.S. medical source for diagnosing/treating mental disorders. The GD diagnostic critera/discussion are replete w/ sexist stereotypes.

3 highlights: 1/14
1. DIAGNOSTIC CRITERIA: CHILDREN: Diagnosis for children requires, per the attached, “six of the following and an associated significant distress or impairment in function, lasting at least six months.” 6 of the 8 diagnostic criteria are arbitrary, sexist nonsense. They 2/14
include having “[a] strong preference for wearing clothes typical of the opposite gender” or “[a] strong preference for the toys, games or activities stereotypically used or engaged in by the othergender.” Putting aside the fact a premier medical org conflates sex & gender, 3/14
it is astounding that a girl liking trucks or a boy liking dresses provides the foundation for medical experiments on children & double mastectomies on 13 year-olds. Nearly 100% of "trans kids" stories incl a litany of sexist stereotypes, as does their "social transition." 4/14
2. DIAGNOSTIC CRITERIA: ADULTS/TEENAGERS. Diagnosis for teens/ adults, per attached, requires “a difference between one’s experienced/expressed gender and assigned gender, and significant distress or problems functioning. It lasts at least six months and is shown by at least 5/14
two of the following:” The adult/teen diagnostic criteria can be divided into 2 categories: 1) Sexist, socially constructed stereotypes, i.e. “[a] strong conviction that one has the typical feelings and reactions of the other gender;” & 2) Body Dysmorphia Disorder (BDD) type 6/14
items, akin to anorexia, wherein ppl w/ GD reject their primary/secondary sex characteristics and/or want those of the opposite sex. BDD aspects aside, this is more sexist nonsense. Exactly what are “typical” [woman/man] feelings and reactions? Not a single one of the 7/14
non-BDD items can be described
w/o resorting to misogynistic stereotypes. Not one.
Another significant criterion for adults/teens is “[a] strong desire to be treated as the other gender.” This is where GD becomes an issue affecting the lives of everyone else. 8/14

It is one thing to have a personal affinity for or desire to embody the sexist stereotypes associated w/ the opposite sex. It is another thing entirely to expect all of society, random strangers to affirm and/or participate in this fantasy. 9/14
The obsessive need for validation is guiding genderist demands that sex denialism/sexist stereotypes be enshrined into laws/policies/social circles resulting in the erasure of women’s/girls’ sex-based rights/protections; homophobic conversion therapy of lesbians/gay men; 10/14
a male coup of women’s/girls’ very ontological category; & liability for businesses/employers/landlords/gvta. It is patently absurd such destructive demands are being granted simply b/c some ppl are distressed they are not the opp sex, & are enamored w/ sexist stereotypes. 11/14
3. GD DISCUSSION. The APA says “[p]eople w/ gender dysphoria may be . . . described as being uncomfortable with their body (particularly developments during puberty) or being uncomfortable with the expected roles of their assigned gender.“ Who isn’t? 12/14 https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/gender-dysphoria/what-is-gender-dysphoria
How many girls are “uncomfortable” with their bodies during puberty, especially given the disgusting attention many receive from perverted grown men? How many women/girls are uncomfortable w/ absurd claims that there are interests, hobbies, hair lengths, personality traits, 13/14
etc *innate*/exclusive to males & females?
It is unconscionable, criminal even, that overtly sexist nonsense is driving not only significant law/policy change, but experimental medical treatments, irreversible surgery & sterilization for children, adolescents, & adults. 14/14
