last year i wanted to write a list of my favorite anime ops of the 2010s, but i never did! so i made one myself, and in this thread i will list every single one of them

this will probably be updated pretty infrequently...combing thru takes a lot of work. we'll see what happens tho

general rules:
1. one op per show
2. between 2010 and 2019
3. personal faves only. i'm sure there are way more cool ones that you're familiar with!

i remember 2015 as being a weak year for anime, but i was suprised how many good ops there were in this year. including some all-time classics (and a few i just really like)

i didn't realize then, but in retrospect 2018 had a real bounty of good opening sequences. a handful of all-time classics plus many that were solid! had to actively prune this list a bit

for a show that looked pretty disposable based on the promotional art, this sequence punches far above its weight. the song is amazing but the sequence has great timing too

and just a few years later the peggies would do the ending song for sarazanmai....the circle is complete. the prophecy is fulfilled

the first episode of zombieland saga actually turned me off, but this opening brought me allll the way back around. not the most refined or polished but there's so much energy

and that's it for 2018! next is 2019, the last year in this retrospective. i don't remember it being a great year for ops but........we'll find out

2019 was an....ok year for ops? there were more greats than i was expecting, but it also wasn't one of the best years on record i think. still, let's take a look
