Mike Bloomberg.

IS HIS WEBSITE WORTHY OF WINNING THE ELECTION?

Watch me dissect his "funnel" and observe what things he's doing good (or bad).

Thread.
Okay we are at the first part of the site.

Run-of-the-mill political aesthetic. Pretty boring!

We can see that the copywriting is kinda lame.

What's the benefit of "Keeping up with Mike"? Is he a Kardashian?
What he could have done:

Showcase an incentive to "Keeping up with him". Something like this 👇
✔️Grabs attention with headline and motivates reader
✔️Has a clear call to action (Help him help you)
✔️Social proof (Subtly communicates that there are many many other supporters)
✔️Addresses the billionaire objection (Why should you support another rich guy?)
Next up, second part:

What does the text on the left tell you? Nothing.

It's like those generic ass businesses saying "We have the best quality, the best values and we want to be the best"

Yeah, every Dem and their grandma says they can beat Trump.

What makes YOU unique?
The video is okay. It talks about how he created more than XYZ jobs and how he "cares" about the environment.

Half the video is about him, not about the people.

Remember this: THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU. THEY GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WHAT ***YOU*** CAN DO FOR THEM.
This one is good, and it's an angle that also helped Trump win back in 2016.

When you are rich you don't need to sell yourself to others.
Next up: Campaign promises

1st, he promises the good ole' $15 per hour (A retarded concept to anyone with basic economics knowledge)

But aye, I'm not here to roast his promises, only his website.
Here's a good way to convey a campaign promise.

Appeal to the reader's pains.

Mike can bring you a better, happier future.

Your job as a marketer/copywriter is to show the future you can give to people.
This one is good. This tactic is called throwing rocks at the competition.

He tells the reader how he will do what the "enemy" should've done long time ago.
✔️Don’t sell the product, sell the emotion.
✔️Make them fear losing something by siding with the mediocre competitors.
✔️SUBTLY showcase the consequences of not making the RIGHT choice. (No vote? No investment. Sorry.)
Gun violence is a sensitive topic, which makes it a great sales opportunity (I know, super edgy. Facts tho.)

But Mikey got it all wrong here. Three prong approach? Throwing money at the problem? Research?

Remember to FOCUS ON THE BENEFIT NOT THE CHARACTERISTICS
The "client" cares about the FUTURE you will bring them.

They care about having the problem fixed, PRONTO.

Here's a better way to sell the solution 👇
This one's okay. Straight to the point. Maybe YOU can think of something better? Let me know.
The Paris what? Hold up let me Google this "decarbonization" thing.
Okay I'm back. Here's how I would have framed it.

Lmao imagine believing in global warming.
We are done with the promises I think. Let's move on to the next part: Tour and dates.

As you can see, he only talks about him (Again).

There is no good call to action here. He's wasting an opportunity to have supporters and potential supporters reach out to him in person.
Here's how he can actually bring people together in his new movement 👇
This part:

✔️Encourages dreams
✔️Diminishes fears
✔️Creates familiarity and dispels suspicions
✔️Has a clear call to action (Conversion)
Moving on to the next part: News.

Vanilla, all news articles should frame in in a positive manner. He's doing good here.
Social proof and credentials. Could work.

Portrays Mike as a guy that knows his shit. An interesting angle for him.

He did well here.
A podcast? Ok, did not expect this.

He's expecting the reader to listen to a podcast when he could showcase ALL of his ideas on a website. Risky!
The grass is what? 0/10 The ecom kids from this side of Twitter can make better stuff with print-on-demand.
Massive social proof here. Here he is portrayed as successful "American Dream" example that went from rags to riches and now wants to help others to achieve that dream.
This is his one shot at properly framing himself as a "not evil" billionaire and as someone who...

...is a good person
...has the best intentions in his heart
...struggled, just like everyone
...cares for you❤️

I may analyze and dissect this part of the website another day.
We are done for today. If you liked this thread I'll dissect Bernie's campaign website thoroughly. https://twitter.com/BRONZENAIRE/status/1228229462539374592
