I thought I'd start a thread of podcast episodes that have made me laugh, cry, smarter, curious, or that I've been envious of because I didn't make them. I'll add more as I listen.
I tweeted about this one yesterday but I'm just putting it in the thread. Succession writer Lucy Prebble on the genius of When Harry Met Sally in this ep of Rule of Three. So good on comedy/rom com writing, and love the bit on the choreography of the film: https://play.acast.com/s/ruleofthree/eb6b4407-202a-464f-91d3-3fc04a633d17
Speaking of Succession, I used to want to be a film composer and I pretty much love everything Nicholas Britell has ever written and so this episode of @SongExploder about Little's/Chiron's/Black's Themes in Moonlight was right up my street: http://songexploder.net/moonlight
I always tell people to listen to @loveandradio's 'The Living Room' episode. I love it. I also always save their secrets hotline episodes for long journeys. http://loveandradio.org/2015/03/the-living-room/
I will add more as I remember/listen to them but I hope this provides some sort of joy on this particularly dreary Thursday afternoon. (My thoughts are with you if, like me, you got stuck in the lunchtime downpour and are spending the rest of the afternoon with wet feet).
There are so many good things about the latest Reply All. It's a name-that-tune saga that goes to impressive lengths to track down a song, uncovering some interesting stuff about late 90s music industry/US music radio culture along the way: https://gimletmedia.com/shows/reply-all/o2h8bx/158-the-case-of-the-missing-song
Tis the month that I get to see @Goldfrapp perform Felt Mountain, which I've always wanted to see live, and which reminded me of this dreamy R4 programme by @FallingTreeProd that came out last year: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0006lng
