I joked earlier that I'm gonna sell out hard now that I'm Partnered, and I know people generally trust me when it comes to my recommendations, but I don't ever want to shill for games with predatory monetization that I find morally indefensible.
I joked earlier that I'm gonna sell out hard now that I'm Partnered, and I know people generally trust me when it comes to my recommendations, but I don't ever want to shill for games with predatory monetization that I find morally indefensible.
I wanna be clear about that, because I get told all of the time that people picked up games because I streamed them or talked about them here, and so I would never want to recommend or promote something that I believe is harmful. That would just be me hurting those who trust me.
I'll also never promote shady grey market key resellers either, I know how they hurt indie game studios, and how they scam customers with recurring charges, so I don't ever want to be involved in flogging that kind of business. I take being "influencer" extremely seriously.
I know that anyone who's been following me for any length of time is aware I'm probably painstakingly tedious when it comes to disclosure whenever a game key is supplied to me by the developer/publisher, like for example: https://twitter.com/CaseyExplosion/status/1192492897125441536?s=20
This is important to me because I never want to mislead anyone. I want to play games that I genuinely love, and share my enthusiasm with people, that's it. Playing something I don't enjoy on stream to promote it to people I'd be lying to sounds like absolute hell to me!
