Sia, a brief history of her life, her impact within the music industry, her past and her dedication to her craft.

Trigger warnings: Attempted suicide, drug abuse, body image, eating disorders, terrorism. If any of these are sensitive subjects, please avoid this thread.
Sia Furler (artist name Sia) is a 44-year old singer, songwriter, producer, voice actress and music video director born in Adelaide, Australia.

She is well known for her hits “Chandelier”, “Elastic Heart”, “Cheap Thrills”, “Alive” and “The Greatest.”
Sia has been working within the music industry for well over 25 years now, from debuting within a girl group to releasing several solo studio albums, with her most recent albums 1000 Forms of Fear and This Is Acting being her most popular, among with her side-project LSD.
Sia has always been extremely open about her real-life experiences and struggles, such as attempted suicide and drug abuse in the past. In 1997, a week before she left for the UK, her boyfriend was hit by a car and killed. She has described the man as the love of her life.
A few years down the line, Sia released her album "Colour The Small One" along with the song "Breathe Me" in 2004. The song connects with a lot of people struggling with depression, seeking adoration from somebody else. Full of pain but also full of love at the same time.
Sia has worked on many songs in the past, penning hits for Beyoncé, Rihanna, Flo-Rida, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Katy Perry and MANY more.

In 2011, she released Titanium, a collaboration with David Guetta. The song went on to be a worldwide hit.
"49 beautiful lives lost. This is for you."

Sia has always been extremely supportive of the LGBTQ+ community.

In 2016, Sia released "The Greatest", featuring Kendrick Lamar. The music video represents the lives lost in a LGBTQ+ nightclub back in 2016 to a terrorist attack.
In 2017, a paparazzi tried to sell naked photos of Sia to her fans.

Sia went on to take her power back and posted the image herself on Twitter to make the paparazzi powerless. Legendary behaviour? I think yes. https://twitter.com/Sia/status/927726442154098688
Sia has refrained from appearing in public recognizable and has always found ways to remain hidden to the general public.

"I don't want to be famous, or recognizable. If anyone besides famous people knew what it was like to be famous, they would never want to be famous."
"Imagine the stereotypical highly opinionated, completely uninformed mother-in-law character and apply it to every teenager with a computer in the entire world. [...] that force, criticizing you for an hour straight once a day, every day, day after day."
"I don't wear this if there aren't cameras around. I only wear this to maintain a modicum of privacy. I don't want to be critiqued about the way that I look on the internet."
Sia is mostly known for her huge hits, but her stance in life and her mindset nowadays makes me adore her a thousand times more. She has overcome an extreme amount of struggles in the past and has come out a stronger person.
Sia's live performances are out of this world, showcasing amazing vocals and stunning contemporary dance. This is a stellar performance of her song "Alive" back in 2015 on the Graham Norton show.
I have decided to leave her struggles regarding self-harm and other issues from the past out of the thread. These took place more than a decade ago and she has grown into a completely different person. These actions do not define her.
Apart from all of her own songs, this is a list of some of the hits Sia has written. Sia has writing credits on over a total of 300 songs.
Sia has zero Grammy wins. This, yet again, proves that extremely talented and well-known artists remain to be overlooked by the Grammy's.
This is also a very important point. https://twitter.com/personafy02/status/1229106851498717184?s=21 https://twitter.com/personafy_/status/1229106851498717184
Sia was spotted in a grocery shop paying people’s groceries for Thanksgiving. She told the people there she was a woman who had just won the lottery and felt extremely generous. They never knew it was actually “Sia”.
Sia’s vocals will forever remain to be one of my favorites to listen to. Her ability to draw you in while she’s on stage is so mind-blowing.
She has always been very open with what she is going through and she is practically an open book. Nothing but love and admiration for this woman. ❤️ https://twitter.com/sia/status/1180240008331939840?s=21 https://twitter.com/Sia/status/1180240008331939840
Please, do give her music a chance. Her entire discography is filled with gems. I’d like to point out this classic I mentioned earlier in the thread. This song gives me goosebumps everytime. I’m glad BTS collaborated with this wonderful woman. ❤️ https://open.spotify.com/track/7jqzZyJJLrpkRFYGpkqSK6?si=9W0niGXdScyOiN7iDplzXg
