What's good! I am back with part 2 of my BTS member introduction installment. Part 1 introduced RM, so for this thread, we are going to be exploring the lovely, lovely Jin!

Jin (real name Kim Seokjin) was born December 4th, 1992. He has a mother, a father, and an older brother.

Jin lived a relatively normal childhood, graduated highschool, and was in the middle of his undergraduate degree in university before ever joining BTS. The way he got casted is that he was spotted getting off a bus and the scouters thought he had very handsome features.

He ended up being invited for and passing the BigHit audition and he originally thought he might be an actor (as it was related to his undergrad course), but he became an idol instead.

He is a vocalist in the group. His voice is often recognizable on BTS tracks for its smooth nasally tone, making him a perfect fit for Pop, Ballad, and R&B music. He can hit some wicked high notes too.

He is also an incredible songwriter/composer! His solo work is amazing and I recommend you check out Epiphany, Tonight, and all the many covers he's posted online. The way he's able to capture emotions in his voice is phenomenal and he often gets praised by many music critics.

Some more tidbits: he loves to cook! He's known in the group for making really good food, and back in their rookie years, he was always cooking for the other members. He likes to do mukbangs from time to time, titling them 'Eat Jin', and he invites other members to eat with him.

Jin can play the guitar. In his off-time, he likes to practice, and he's shown off his skills in concert too. The members encourage him to play it often, and they sing to all the songs he strums.

He loves computer games. Sometimes when he does live broadcasts, he likes to play online games with fans. Most of the times he does these are on his birthday. Aside from that, he's said that he also likes to play things like League of Legends.

Jin's had some very exotic pets! Around 2017, he revealed that he actually had pet Sugar Gliders, and they lived with him in the dorm. He sometimes brought them to the practice room for the others to play with too. And he was a very responsible pet owner.

His acting is amazing! He best shines in the Highlight Reels released for BTS' ongoing storyline. In those, he plays the main character of the story and he also does all the narrations.

The university he graduated from is quite prestigious! Jin majored in Film at Konkuk University. As of 2014, it's among the top 20 universities in Korea. He was also the first in his school to get accepted into uni before even taking the entrance exam, which is insane.

Even with all this intelligence, he's still got an amazing personality. One thing he's known for in BTS is his dad jokes. The rest of the members claim they aren't funny, but they still laugh when he tells them anyway.

Jin can be very energetic. He often becomes spontaneously hyper to make the other members laugh to lighten the mood, whenever they need a cheering up, or they're not feeling too great.

Jin also has a habit of doting on the younger members. You can normally see him feeding them, fixing their hair/clothes, giving hugs, wiping tears, or just straight up letting them sit in his lap.

But even with all this physical affection and energy that he brings, he's actually rather introverted. But Jin forces himself out of his shell when they're on shows/interviews because he can sense when the others are nervous, so he does it to break the ice.

Jin is the oldest in BTS. When BTS debuted, he was 20 years old. In Korea, being the oldest in a group would normally give you a lot of authority, but Jin has never tried to act superior. Rather, he worked hard to be seen as an equal to the others, thus closing the age gap.

Overall, he's just very perceptive and adaptable when it comes to human relationships, so you can tell he always thinks about the dynamics between him and someone else before acting.

One thing that amazes me about Jin is his steady work ethic. He started with zero singing experience when he first became a trainee, but now his voice is god-tier. Even his vocal coach said that out of all the students she had ever taught, Jin was the most memorable.

The members themselves have said that Jin represents the steady efforts of BTS. He worked so hard to get to where he is today. He never slacked off. He never skipped a day of practice. He never gave up. He always just kept pushing.

And with all that hard work also came the immense confidence he has in himself today. He has blossomed into such a great man who is happy with himself, and I know he will continue to amaze us all.

In conclusion, Jin is not only a handsome vocalist, but he is a kind, polite, caring, funny, and humble person who is living proof that it doesn't matter what age you start chasing your dreams. As long as you work hard and believe in yourself, you can be anything you want to be.
