Jungkook never knew that the day where he needs to let go of his son was going to come so soon. Neither did he know he would see his husband so destroyed and drained from life. He will never forget the day he lost both himself and his two angels.
Their little boy closes his eyes. Still in pain. He has been fighting this for years. The cancer has eaten him whole. Yet he stayed alive for his beloved fathers. Taehyung holds his hands as he whispers “it’s okay to let go baby”.
Taehyung sobs as he sees his little boys body relax. He’s been in pain for too long. He deserves to rest.

Jungkook holds Taehyung in his arm tightly. He cries seeing his beloved boy deciding to go to the angels. Where he belongs. He was the kindest of souls.
He didn’t deserve to be in pain. Jungkook feels Taehyung’s shaking body in his arms. He is all he got, now that their little boy let go.

The house embraces them in a cold way. Neither of them feel the warmth now that their boy isn’t there anymore. Taehyung is broken.
Eyes puffy from crying too much. Nose red. Body shaking and weak from skipping meals. He’s walking while basically being dead on the inside. Jungkook is no better. But his way of coping with death isn’t like Taehyung’s.
They walk into their boys room. It looks the same. But it feels different. It feels broken. Empty. Cold. Taehyung sits on his bed and hugs his pillow. He has no tears left to cry. Jungkook stands by the door watching him. They haven’t talked much.
Shared tears and embracing each other. But they haven’t exchanged any words. Not until Taehyung opens his mouth. “He’d be so mad at me for crying.” Taehyung laughs lightly and so does Jungkook.

Jungkook sits by the wall in front of the bed where Taehyung is sitting.
“He’d scold both of us.” Jungkook just stares at Taehyung while smiling. It hurts in his chest. And hearing Taehyung’s broken and tiny voice cuts more holes into his heart. “I miss him Jungkook. I miss him so much.” His voice is shaking. Full of hurt. It pains both of them.
“My heart hurts. I don’t know if I can live everyday knowing he won’t be here.” Jungkook wants to comfort him. But he doesn’t know how. Because he feels exactly the same. “But I can’t just fall into a depression. I need to stay strong. For him.”
Taehyung finally looks up at Jungkook, his gaze empty yet full of emotions. “We need to stay strong for him.” Jungkook nods as he gets up to embrace the only one he has left.

“For him.” He whispers. It’s weird hearing himself talk. He hasn’t heard his own voice for a while.
Neither has Taehyung. He forgot how much Jungkook's voice comforted him.

“I want to keep his room.” Jungkook nods as he agrees. The breakfast is barely touched and they both just want to be in each other’s arms without worrying about the world. Just being there for each other.
Because the pain they feel, they both know the latter feels as much.

“We should call my parents. They’re worried.” Taehyung says and Jungkook nods. He can’t find himself doing anything else. They get up and walk towards their room. Trying to find some type of comfort at least.
They both lay there. Taehyung in Jungkook's arms. “Remember when he first started walking?” Taehyung says and Jungkook hums.
“He fell so many times. But never gave up. Until he walked straight into my arms.” They both burst into tears.
“He was such a strong boy. Surviving for so long...for us. He is an angel now. A star up on the beautiful night sky.” They both share memories. Laughing while crying their hearts out.

“Dad!” Jungkook whips his head to the side while hearing this boy utter that beautiful world.
He was one once. “Dad I want this car!” The toy in the boys hand looks like the car Jungkook bought his beautiful angel.

Taehyung comes back with the milk he went to fetch. He watches where Jungkook's gaze is stuck at. He sees the little boy and his heart saddens.
“Jungkook baby I got the milk.” He looks at Taehyung with soft eyes.

Not wanting to cry in public. “I miss being a dad.” Jungkook whispers and Taehyung can’t help but feel his heart getting heavier. “I know. It’s been a few months since our angel disappeared.
But would you want a new one?” Jungkook's eyes light up.

They both know that no other child will be able to replace their angelic boy. But it might fill the hole in their hearts.
“The adoption agency will be here this afternoon so come home early.” Jungkook nods as he kisses Taehyung’s soft lips. They haven’t done much besides hugging each other. To make sure that neither let go. To hold on.
“Make sure to take it easy at work okay?” Jungkook says as he pecks Taehyung one last time before dropping him off at the art studio he works at. He drives himself to his office. Every meter that he drives away from his husband kills him.
He doesn’t want to be apart from Taehyung for too long. But he has too. They need to work to be able to put food on their table and to give their new child a safe and good future.

He looks at his coworkers, not seeing them. He can’t see their sad faces.
He just searches for his boy. He searches for his little boy even though he knows he isn’t there. Jungkook sits down by his office and sighs as his chest is filled up with emptiness. He doesn’t feel like breathing. But he has to. For Taehyung.
Taehyung lets his pencil move on its own, not looking at what he’s doing. He thinks back to the time when his beautiful boy visited him and they went to eat lunch together. He remembers his angel’s little giggles. It’s unfair.
It’s unfair how his boy got stolen like that. He was so young, just starting to understand life. He didn’t even get to experience life before he got stolen. Taehyung wished he could've done more.
He looks at the device in front of him and the character in front of him looks like his boy. Exactly like him. He starts writing while leaving the picture he just drew up. A story is what his boy deserves, and a story is what he’s going to get.
“Thank you for coming!” Taehyung closes the door as he smiles. Already forgetting the workers looks. “That went good.” Jungkook says as he snakes his arms around Taehyung’s wasit. “Yeah…” Taehyung’s face is focused on something else. Jungkook can see it. “What is it love?”
Their eyes meet. “I have a story. It’s about this boy that fights the most painful of wars. He saves people, especially his two dads. Until his body can’t function anymore. I’ve already written the script and I sketched a lot of scenes. Should I pitch the idea to my director?”
Jungkook nods and kisses his lips gently. Taehyung leans into the kiss, he needs him. They both need each other.

“It’s beautiful Taehyung. I love it.” He bows down as he thanks his director. He is lucky to have such a supportive boss.
“I need you to work hard on it though. Make it perfect. And make sure to focus on your other characters looks too, not only the main.” Taehyung nods as he thanks him and walks out to call Jungkook. He is too excited to have the news for himself.
“Hey there my little genius.” Jungkook says while leaning on the car, opening his arms. Waiting for Taehyung to hug him. Taehyung blushes slightly as he feels butterflies tingle in the pit of his stomach. Finally feeling something more than pain.
“Let’s go eat dinner at the restaurant we met. To celebrate.” They hold hands as Jungkook drives them home to shower and change. “Do you think he’s watching us?” Taehyung asks as he buttons up Jungkook’s shirt.
“Of course he is. And he’s so proud of you baby.” Taehyung nods as he kisses Jungkook’s lips one more time before going out.

Several months pass by, they both feel the emptiness in their hearts, but being surrounded by the people they love is all they need to fill the void.
Taehyung finishes his new animation movie with the help of his workers and due to the popularity of the studio it gets a lot of attention fast. It’s a short animation with few words, but the trailer touched too many people's hearts. Jungkook can’t wait to see it.
He knows they’ll both be in pain afterwards, but maybe it'll be their way of letting it out.

Their phone calls and it's the number they haven’t seen in a while. It’s the adoption center.
“Hey. Yes this is Kim Taehyung you’re speaking with. Really? That’s amazing! Thank you! We’ll come by tomorrow.” his husband hangs up as he starts screaming in excitement and hugs him tightly. “They found a boy for us!” the happiness in Jungkook’s body is finally let out.
It was locked in for too long. “We’re getting a boy!” this scenario reminds them both of the first time they found out they would bring their angel home. Not expecting to lose him so soon.
The boy looks so shy and little next to the lady, “These are your new parents, they’re very nice, go greet them.” the boy walks towards them. When they adopted their angel for the first time, he was just a few months old. But this boy is about three years old.
He is adorable and shy. Not like their last boy, who was energetic and social. But this boy isn’t supposed to be like their last. It’s their new start.

This new boy is their new chance to fix their broken hearts.

He walks towards them. “Are you my new dads?”.
