My dissertation supervisor who is around 70, ends every email with “please confirm safe receipt of this email” as if the email is being delivered by India post on a bullock cart. It’s so cute ❤️
Going to make this a thread about my uber cute dissertation supervisor. He asked me where in India I was from. I said Chennai and he said he didn't know where it was and when I explained he said, "Oh Madras! Have they changed the name now?" <3
At the end of our call today, my supervisor confirms the time of our next meeting and last time he forgot the time so this time he says let me pencil you in. Thought he'll put it on google calendar but he actually took a pencil and diary and wrote time and date of next meeting😭
Also here is a sample of his email and look at how he ends it ♥️
And he is such an inspiration. He is 70, possibly at very high risk of covid because of his age. Lives alone, has no family and he NEVER misses a single deadline to give feedback and says 'i don't have a family and my students are my family and I am here to support you'😭😭😭
He is all kinds of teacher and professor goals. SO genuinely cares for all his students, holds us to the highest expectations, makes sure that COVID doesn't come in the way of us getting an education and doing our assignments
He is the thatha i never had
Today's story: He called me today to talk about my dissertation and I said hold on let me grab my headphones. And he is like are headphones helpful? Can people around you not hear what i am saying if you wear headphones? ♥️
Maybe I should get some. Could you recommend any?
And I told him names of a couple of brands and he asked me to spell them out and wrote them down in his diary.
Yaaar why is he so cute
He has runny nose, a dry cough and a mild fever
I HATE YOU UNIVERSE
AND I HATE YOU CORONAVIRUS
DO NOT MAKE HIM SICK. HE IS THE NICEST PERSON EVER😭
He is doing ok. Just a cold apparently! Yayy.

Also this is an email he sent to a German colleague today. This man has my WHOLE heart.
