Hey everyone. I'm putting my Star Trek thoughts into one big thread to make it easier to view. Here it is.

Alrighty. I am starting my Star Trek journey. Original series. S1 E1: The Cage. And my god those eyebrows on Spock in the thumbnail.

The title sequence for Star Trek feels more like a sitcom than a space opera. Also, those models man. Probably the best they had but that didn't age well.

Hot damn, despite the outdated intro, the acting on display in this episode is amazing. Pike drew me in immediately.

"I just can't get used to having a woman on the bridge." 1960s casual sexism.

Ok. So the villains of the first episode were Megamind?

Megamind Palpatines

Ok so how did they fake the people? Megamind Palpatines can fake people now.

Also these pilot phasers and communicators are very weird looking compared to later seasons

There's a man in a gorilla suit outside of this cage along with a Tengu Warrior

Halfway through the cage and while some aspects are silly and cheesy the best part is Pike. He's intelligent and charismatic and so well acted. Honestly I thought I would not like this episode but it holds up well in many ways.

"You either live life, bruises, skinned knees and all, or you turn your back on it and start dying." Damn son. This is good.

Ok... Did we really need the erotic dance of the green woman.... I was loving this episode for the most part. This is just unneeded.

Spock: "The women."

Yeah, this scene makes no sense in context too.

"Is your blood red like ours? I'm gonna find out."

Just finished my first ever episode of Star Trek. The cage. It was fantastic. Seriously loved it and the twists it kept bringing in. The characters were intelligent. Theor motivations made sense and were relatable. All in all, while there were some outdated bits this was amazing

I honestly feel The Cage was ahead of its time in many ways. And I wish I had seen it sooner. Also: The women!

I'm just gonna say this now. I think Captain Pike is best Captain so far.

Anyway, let's take a break to eat some ice cream and watch more star trekking

And the blue-shirt is dead. I'm not surprised.

So this episode of star trek is the thing in space

Just finished "The Man Trap". While there are some slow aspects of the episode I enjoyed it a lot. Yeah, the set and creature looked cheap, the idea of a monster that can shape shift and pick you off still works here. Much like the thing it does a great job with suspense

It left a lot of moral gray area here on whether or not it should have died. Did it kill for survival or simply because of hunger or was it evil. Did it deserve to die. Good questions raised and a great performance by the cast.

I think Dr. bones was my favorite this episode but Kirk, sulu and Spock all left an impression. Good job space cowboys

While I wait for my episode to upload, it's time to watch more Trek. This episode: Charlie X

Wow. There are 428 people on the Enterprise. That's a lot of red shirts to die off.

"A-are you a girl." No boy she's a toaster.

Gotta say, I love the official Star Trek TOS opening theme. Especially that message. Space.... The Final Frontier.

God this kid is creepy.

Captain Kirk's green shirt is doing him no favors in this episode. At all. That is not space's ass. Also, Charlie doesn't need a father. He needs a therapist.

Random as hell song from Uhura. As you were.

That........ That was a thing. This episode is kinda weird.

Alrighty, while I wait for the stream to begin, I'm gonna restart Star Trek Episode 3. This was a weird one I stopped halfway cuz I was tired and was so busy lately I couldn't continue. Anyway..... Time for Charlie X

Watching this again.... that green uniform really makes Kirk look less like a captain and more like a peter pan cosplayer

So what exactly is a Yeoman? And what do they do? My starfleet knowledge is very lax.

Oh. Also. Can anyone tell me how stardates are calculated exactly? From what I gather a day is like .2 of a starday

One more question. Why are the female crew members all wearing miniskirts? Please state your answer in the form of a question.

Charlie just slapped that girl on the ass. god now we have to call human resources and watch a presentation on sexual harassment. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Spock and Bones continue to be my favorite crew members so far. Kirk hasn't done much yet and Uhura is just kinda flirting with spock. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Uhura's song just comes right the hell outta nowhere. And its just so weird. Is this future music? #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Oh apparently it's Thanksgiving in this episode. I am honestly surprised they celebrate this holiday in space in the future. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

"I mean.... there's no right way to hit a woman." I mean.... he's right but there's no right way to hit a man either. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Three dimensional chess seems like it would require far too much thinking for me. But it makes sense for space captains to play when their ships are like the pieces. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

"You smell like a girl." I.... I... I mean yes... but... also. what?

"Charlie there are a million things in this universe you can have and a million you can't. It's no fun facing that but that's the way things are." Ok, Kirk is really doing great in this episode. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Ok, while a large amount of this episode is very outdated and goofy, Kirk really sells his resolve in this when he stands up to the kid who could snuff him out like nothing. Also, Charlie is scary as hell. On the other hand, there's a lot of goof on display #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Charlie turned me into a newt! .... I got better #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Just finished Charlie X. While the first half is a bit weird and dated the second half is excellent, especially once we learn why Charlie is the way he is. Raised without touch or love. It's a very powerful ending #ZenithStarTrekJourney

There is a very interesting dilemma and dynamic here between Kirk and Charlie. A boy who has never known love and wants to go home but doesn't know how to control his power or be good. It's powerful. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

I honestly felt extremely sorry for Charlie and understood why Kirk spared him. Stillllll, the first half has some weeeeeird stuff. "You smell like a girl." "The women." But yeah. So far 3 good episodes. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Alright. I am taking the plunge into TOS episode 4 "Where No Man Has Gone Before." Let's begin. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

I am to understand this is the 2nd pilot episode. And dear god Spock those eyebrows! Thank god that was toned down in later episodes. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

So this episode is them trying to go past the edge of the galaxy and they hit a purple storm. Are they gonna be the fantastic 4 now? #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Is it just me or does every one of these 4 episodes involve someone with mental godlike powers? Well, The Man Trap had shapeshifting but they used memories to do so. So yeah... mental powers #ZenithStarTrekJourney

I'll give this episode one major thing above the last 2 episodes. It is far more interesting and the villain morally grey but still fun to watch. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

"Above all else, a god needs compassion." I honestly really love this episode. It has far less goofiness and is generally just engrossing to watch. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

"A god but still driven by human frailty." What does god need with graves and a boulder? #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Just finished "Where No Man Has Gone Before." This was a fantastic episode and my favorite thus far. That ending was tense and really showed off captain Kirk's acting chops. I loved it. Far better than episode 3 #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Ok. Gonna be starting Episode 5 today. "The Naked Time." That title is.... a thing. I.... what. "The women." #ZenithStarTrekJourney

"Space contains an infinite number of unknowns." And yet this is the first episode not containing god-like powers and shapeshifting aliens. lol #ZenithStarTrekJourney

OMG. Seeing Sulu shirtless with a fencing sword is the best. I love this episode. They're all drunk. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Just finished "The Naked Time." This episode was superb, not just for the drunk crew members but the acting for everyone and the character development. Just loved it. Also time travel. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Alright everybody. Since both my controllers need to be charged and I can't play any more DBZ Kakarot until they are fully charged, let's return to Star Trek #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Let's recap so far. The Cage: A wonderful pilot that made me interested to see more but was unfortunately the last we saw of Pike. I loved it. The Man Trap: First episode with Kirk. I like the episode overall and the crew dynamic but it felt a step down #ZenithStarTrekJourney

I mean, The Cage gave us "The Women" and The Man Trap just gave us a shapeshifting monster. Charlie X was weeeeird. "You smell like a girl". However, I liked the way it ended, even if the first have was weird. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Where No Man Has Gone Before was a fantastic pilot for the Kirk run and god Kirk was great in this. I love the fight at the end and the idea of the episode. The Naked Time is my favorite so far with drunken Sulu fencing everyone. Loved that. #ZenithStarTrekJourney

So now we move onto episode 6: The Enemy Within #ZenithStarTrekJourney

Ok, while thus far the effect work has been pretty good for its time.... what the hell is Sulu carrying here. It's a dog in a fuzzy suit with a unicorn horn. That is just ridiculous Richelieu #ZenithStarTrekJourney
