The Light Triad border into darkness: Asta, half demon. Yuno, half elf. And Noelle half Valkyrie (Theory)
Noelle is likely a Valkyrie. According to Norse mythology, Valkyries are ancient female warriors who choose who lives or dies in battle and tend to fall in love with heroes. Noelle pretty much chooses his lives or dies in a way, her magic is so immense more specifically
Sea Dragonâs Roar that it can one-shot people Iâm gruesome ways so she rarely lets it go full blast. Also we know sheâs in love with the main hero, Asta.
I think itâs also worth nothing both her and her mother have unusually pointy ears. Looks similar to Patryâs ears in his suppressed form from the water temple arc.
We also have her first powerup: Valkyrie Dress. One of the listed Valkyries in myth is Göndul or âWand-wieldedâ, we know Noelle is the only character who favors a wand. Göndul also ruins a sworn brotherhood between two men who aim to become king but fail to when they realize
theyâre equals in everything until she aides one brother. She later becomes a giant with black skin and a ghostly shadow, sounding similar to the Ancient Demon Licht became. This is quite simialr to Yuno and Asta who aim to become Wizard King, Noelle could aide Asta in this
since sheâs in love with him and is royalty.
Now we have Yuno. Everyone that was the unaffiliated and Clover nobles became an elf during the elf arc. The elves chose a host based on wavelength and mana amount, notice everyone chosen had large mana pools. Yuno Just happened to get a special elf: Lichtâs unborn son.
After the Word Devil battle we see all the elves souls leave their hosts and the actual elves die. However nothing leaves Yuno except the markings on his face that also faded from Lichtâs face. @SahandKT pointed out in their own theory recently that Yuno mayâve fused with the
Elfâs soul. I wanna point out that we know elves and 4-leaves especially have tendency to become demons or dark beings mostly when they despair.
Now Asta, this is a theory wrapped in one: Asta was said to be a regular human over and over with the exception of the birth defect: being manaless. However there is some evidence showing otherwise. The WQ never looked into that many options for Asta. She checked if he was elven
Due to him wielding Lichtâs sword but didnât appear to consider other options so it was reasonable for her to assume heâs simply born with this disability which leaves more possibilities. Then we have the Anti-magic demon telling Asta heâs closest to him. He could just mean
That itâs because he chills in the grimoire all the time but Secre has been with and is closer to Asta even longer, Yuno too. Iâm sure thereâs a deeper meaning here. Then we have the WQ shocked that Asta did not pass out from the flow of anti-magic, his body able to handle it.
Then you have him surviving the life force draining attack from the word devil. Itâs magic confirmed to be from the other world that affects living beings. But Asta gets engulfed in it full force. The others say it was the anti magic but it covered him completely where the
Sword could not reach. We know mana is connected to life force based on the elves reincarnating with their original mana pools and leaving with them. The spade captain at the start of chapter 229 says something about mana being related to life
Then we have Astaâs insane strength and speed feats in base form. Tabata has a list of characters ranked from physically strongest to weakest (I still canât believe Yuno could fold Magna with pure hands but I trust Tabata)
Asta is ranked just second under Yami. Weâve seen Asta strong enough to lift 5-6 boars on his back, break concrete, plus he was so fast when he speed blitzed Sekke that William thought he was using a speed spell despite not having any magic.
Now we have Asta with a demon power that just works so perfectly with the condition of his body. I think it can definitely be believed Asta is not completely human. Like Yuno and Noelle he could be a hybrid though the other half being demon.
Iâm saying all this because of their purposes in the story. We were recently introduced to The Dark Triad: Vanica, Zeno, and Dante Zogratis. All implied to hold a specific demonâs power and all hold their own twisted morals. Theyâre based on the Dark Triad of psychology:
Psychopathy: Zeno, Narcissism: Vanica and Machiavellian: Dante. All so far seem to have ZERO qualms with killing and actually take pleasure in it. All 3 traits center around lack of morality and high self-interest.
We know Asta, Yuno and Noelle are quite the opposite. All 3 value human life and peace. Asta is not afraid to kill but is very reluctant to do so because he believes in redemption. Noelle is the most against killing; Kahono even says she probably did so poorly with offensive
We also have Yuno who has actually killed still place great value in human life. Basically as ABD has put it, theyâre the antithesis to the Dark Triad and are the Light Triad. But why are the heralds of Light able to become or connected with demons/devils themselves like the DT?
Maybe to show that as Black Clover always did: Screw fate. Despite their ties to evil they use their powers for good and value their high morality. A Valkyrie, an elf and a demon bringing good into the world.
