Hip-hop and R&B sample so much Arabic music. Of course you hope that Middle Eastern artists actually get paid for being sampled and get their credit. Here& #39;s a thread of notable samples (interestingly, most hip-hop and R&B songs that sample Arabic music were produced by Timbaland)
The most famous example is Jay-Z& #39;s "Big Pimpin." That song sampled "Khosara" by Abdel Halim Hafez. It was produced by Timbaland and caused years of legal battles over copyright issues.

In "Dance" by Nas, he samples Algerian singer Cheb Khaled& #39;s "Aicha"

There are plenty of other examples that I& #39;ll try to include as I find them. Bottom line: Arabic music is more prevalent than you think, and these artists deserve their credit, their respect, and their money
