I'm a die-hard Roger Federer fan but Novak Djokovic is the Greatest Tennis Player of All Time!!! I have to admit it.
I'll give my reasons in details..
I'll give my reasons in details..
1. Novak Djokovic is considered by many to be the greatest returner of all. He returns about 35% of his opponents service games.. That is remarkable.
2. He won his first Grand Slam in 2008 but his serve suffered a lot in the 3 years between. He was constantly getting to Grand Slam semi finals but was always losing to Federer and Nadal, every time. He had always been better than the rest of the field..
Then the turning point came in 2010 and his serve improved tremendously. He was 2 match points down against Federer at the 2010 US Open final, saved both and got to his first Grand Slam final for almost 3 Years. That was the turning point in his career.
After that. He had one of the best Seasons ever in tennis history in 2011. Winning 3/4 Grand Slams, a record( at the time) 5 Masters 1000 titles and finishing the year with only 4 losses. One of which was a retirement.
5. After that season he believed he could compete with anyone in the game. Beating Nadal and Federer a combined 10 times and losing only once to Fed at the 2011 Roland Garros semi final.
6.He continued to reach Grand Slam semi finals and finals but was starting to win Grand Slams regularly. At least once a year until the main dominance started in 2015. Winning a whooping 5 Grand Slams available out of 8 in 2015 and 2016.
7. Federer dominated the 2000s decade and Djokovic dominated the 2010s both winning 15 Grand Slams in those decades but the difference between the two is that Djokovic had to compete constantly with Federer and Nadal ( The other 2 GOATs) to win his Grand Slams unlike Federer.
8. Federer had to compete with the likes of Andy Roddick, Marat Safin and sometimes Nadal to win his Grand Slams unlike Djokovic that had to compete with the other 2 GOATs constantly and still managed to win 15 Grand Slams in that decade. That is Outrageous!
9. He is also the only player in history to have won all 4 Grand Slams and all 9 Masters 1000 titles. The last record remaining for him that will seal his GOAT status is overtaking Federer's 20 Grand Slams which he'll do in a few years.
With these few points of mine, I hope I've been able to convince you that Djokovic is the GOAT!! End of Thread!!
