Apparently I’ve been producing an idol that got cancelled before it was cool..? ww
I don’t lovemail Atsumi enough https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤬" title="Face with symbols over mouth" aria-label="Emoji: Face with symbols over mouth">
People can be uncomfortable with her love towards tiddy alright, especially if they want to project her behavior on IRL situations and treat her as a real person that’s harmed someone (which didn’t even happen in canon) but to say this gimmick is her whole personality is a bit...
Just because ENG wiki doesn’t talk about her character development, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😊" title="Smiling face with smiling eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with smiling eyes">
One of reasons I fell for her was seeing was how fast she became passionate about becoming an idol herself. She admits she used to watch idol performances purely because girls are cute and attention to songs was secondary. Still, once lessons started, she became very interested
in polishing her skills and admitting it was much harder than expected. Nothing like seeing her attitude change from “omg I get to hang out with cute girls” to proudly telling Producers about her improvements and next goals as an idol.
She has a really playful personality, confidence when it comes to her looks (During first visual lesson she bluntly says they’re one of reasons she’s popular in school, which is another proof she’s not acting like a pervert 24/7 around people as some make it sound)
and ability to get good at anything as long as she’s putting efforts into the activities. And it’s shown she gets interested in new things pretty fast, without saying “That’s boring, don’t wanna try, yadda yadda”. She’s a hard working girl.
But she stole my heart with her “I’ll become an idol loved by everyone!” line.

It’s not a secret that depending on an idol’s personality and style, they may attract more male fans or be every girl’s role model. This rule even works with real idols, actually.
Still, she set a goal to become someone who can give happiness to everyone.
Atsumi herself admits her reason for becoming an idol was a weird one. And though at first she hoped she’ll get a bunch of girls as her fans...in the end she says it doesn’t matter if they have “mountains” or not, as she’s happy being an idol and making her fans happy too.
