Because I'm really interested in how you got a Purple Heart and the Defense Distinguished Service Medal for 8 months of active duty Navy time.

By the way, you know who gets the Defense Distinguished Service Medal? Pretty much 1 stars and above/senior NCOs (Sergeants Major) https://valor.militarytimes.com/award/10 - this is an unofficial database, but you can clearly see that these are no "10 years in the Navy" people listed here
