So I'm still writing album reviews, but for the ones I dont write about I figured I'd do on Twitter again....

SO 2020 ALBUM REVIEWS IN THIS THREAD👇🏽🎶😈
Mick Jenkins - The Circus EP (Jan.10th)

It's the first project Mick has put out inna while and it is enjoyable across the board. Sounds free, but also concerned with the things going on around him.

Has some hits and really good rapping. I really liked this.

Score: 8.1/10
Quando Rondo - QPac (Jan. 10th)

My first time listening to Quando & this guy is versatile in his sound. He gives you bars early, but can sing a good tune about the things he grew up around.

It does get repetitive with his love of lean. Otherwise, really nice.

Score: 7.7/10
Moneybagg Yo - Time Served (Jan. 10th)

Another Tennessee rapper with a cold sound. It has one sound, go hard as hell on every track. The features do this album justice as well.

Some of the music goes borderline cringy (Moneybagg barking). This goes hard still.

Score: 7.0/10
Selena Gomez - Rare (Jan. 10th)

The running joke is ALWAYS "who listens to Selena Gomez?" So I had to give it a listen. This seems like the most personable music she ever made

Some of the music is definitely Disney sounding, but she capitalizes on her strengths.

Score: 6.5/10
Mac Miller - Circles (Jan. 17th)

This album is beautiful, front to back. Mac is singing with passion & being more open with his feelings. The production really captures the moment of each track.

Jon Brion tied this together, and it sounds heavenly. Incredible.

Score: 9.2/10
Eminem - Music to be Murdered by (Jan. 17th)

Man, I'm just not seeing it. It's definitely a step up, as production is clean & lyrically better. By no means is this "good" tho.

He still has corny lines and is STILL rapping about his stepdad. He is 48 years old.

Score: 4.1/10
Stunna 4 Vegas - RICH YOUNGIN (Jan. 17th)

WOW this disappointed me. Of course, Stunna can rap. But my lord this screams average! Production was ass, front to back.

There just wasnt that emotion there that I'm used to. Some songs slapped, but lots of fluff.

Score: 5.9/10
Halsey - Manic (Jan. 17th)

So I ain't going to lie, Halsey has bops. This was a fun pop album to, and her voice is great. She made the boring topic of relationship problems seem interesting.

Sure it had its moments of losing steam. Still pleasantly surprised.

Score: 7.2/10
Sir Micheal Rocks - Broken Window of Opportunity (Jan. 17th)

It has been a while since I sat down with Banco. Simply put, it's a cool album. He raps well, beats sound good. Rocks does well.

Knock on it is he takes no chances like he usually does. Still solid.

Score: 6.5/10
Lil Wayne - Funeral (Jan. 31st)

A lot of people called Wayne washed after this album. I did too, Weezy seemed to be more in his mixtape bag than ever with this. So many tracks go hard.

Of course this album is too damm long. However, Weezy still came through.

Score: 6.4/10
Russ - SHAKE THE SNOW GLOBE (Jan. 31st)

So look, I thought for sure I'd hate this album. It's honestly not bad. No it isn't personable and diverse, but him as a person.. I'm glad its basic.

He raps well, kinda on his Rozay flow. It does get old towards the end.

Score: 6.3/10
Key Glock - Yellow Tape (Jan. 31st)

These Memphis boys do not disappoint. Glock & the production go so hard with different sounds of trap. He gets you in the mood for criminal activity

Key captures the mood of his life perfectly with Yellow Tape. Really good.

Score: 7.8/10
Yo Gotti - Untrapped (Jan. 31st)

Lyrically speaking, Gotti impressed me talking on things like ownership & making it out. He had a good mix of hits and reflection.

Some songs get repetitive, especially booty shaking anthems. But still a good album.

Score: 7.0/10
Brent Faiyaz - F*ck the World (Feb 7th)

My intro to this man was great. He has an incredible voice, no corniness tonhis music and sound. Faiyaz could be next up in R&B really soon.

Some songs were kinda filler, but overall it's a better sounding Tiller.

Score: 7.5/10
D Smoke - Black Habits (Feb. 7th)

Another artist I was pleasantly surprised by. This guy can rap, and talks from the experience of living life as an African American and it is great.

He does sound like Kendrick too much, but this guy is still super dope.

Score: 8.3/10
Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats - UNLOCKED (Feb. 7th)

In all honesty, by Denzel standards this was okay. He rapped aggressive and talked his shit. But this reminds me of Big Fish Theory. Rapped over noises.

I did find some really good tracks though, so not bad.

Score: 6.9/10
Pop Smoke - Meet the Woo 2 (Feb. 7th)

In all honesty, it's a cool album. I love his rap voice, & I think he can sing a bit too when he wants. But doesn't really utilize it.

It just got kinda samey, but some tracks just go crazy hard & the Lil Tjay feature nice.

Score: 6.5/10
Justin Bieber - Changes (Feb. 14th)

The Biebs is back, & to be honest I don't know how to make of this. Some songs he sounds super inspired and personal. Then some he just half-asses it.

The deeper cuts really hit me beautifully, but the features are rough.

Score: 6.7/10
A Boogie - Artist 2.0 (Feb 14th)

I really try to understand the fascination with A Boogie since his big jump to celebrity. It seems like A Boogie just does a whole lot of simping.

The features really work well with him, but his solo music is cringy to my core.

Score: 4.4/10
Fetty Wap - Trap & B (Feb 14th)

You know, I give everyone a chance. It is only 7 songs, 20 mins so shouldnt be that bad. It is the worst thing I may have ever listened to.

No creativity, originality, it didnt even sound like Fetty. Pray for him, it was ROUGH.

Score: 1.7/10
NBA Youngboy - Still Flexin, Still Steppin (Feb 21st)

I've been totally sold on Youngboy & the music he been making. His ability to make a catchy tune while rappin/singing about his life is special.

It does get repetitive as hell, but honestly it's a good album.

Score: 7.3/10
Royce Da 5'9" - The Allegory (Feb 21st)

Royce is STILL one of the rappers the game has. But this time he put incredible music into the album.

The knowledge he spits, production, features all comes together in harmony. Anti-vaccination bars are on here, but idec.

Score: 9.1/10
Philly Boi - Cold Hearted 3 (Feb 21st)

When it comes to projects, I found myself enjoying this the least. He still took chances with his voice, but just didnt work out like usual.

Quit MY JOB goes hard, but that's the only one that stuck. Lots of fixable things.

Score: 4.8/10
Young Nudy - Anyways (Feb 24th)

This project made me a believer in the Nudy hype train! He has a unique sound on top of spazzing on almost every track.

He carried this whole project by himself, & did it well. Sooner or later Nudy will be a star, he too cold.

Score: 8.2/10
Jay Show - Red Durango (Feb 28th)

The debut tape, it finally came & delivered. Jay's versatility carries this project to great heights, laying out all different vibes.

Clearly, he is locked in. The Scranton product could easily be carrying the city in hip-hop.

Score: 9.1/10
Lil Baby - My Turn (Feb 28th)

This guy makes heaters, idc what yall say. He seemed a lot more energetic, the features were great and he got a lot more lyrical and vulnerable.

Does it get samey? Sure, but he was able to come with different flows and sounds.

Score: 8.0/10
G-Herbo - PTSD (Feb 28th)

This was a much better album as opposed to last year. The verses, features and production all stepped up to the plate. When he is passionate he is on.

Still some inconsistencies with Herbo tho, some tracks sound off. But PTSD track hard.

Score: 6.8/10
Megan Thee Stallion - SUGA (Mar 6th)

Listen, big fan of her I really am. This EP/album (?) is ass. Middle of the road to downright terrible in every aspect.

This seemed like she made it all in one day. And I hope she never ever EVER uses autotune again.

Score: 2.8/10
Jhene Aiko - Chilombo (Mar 6th)

This is the equivalent of Future in terms of toxicity, except... not as legendary. But this is still a very solid album.

Great singing, some bangers in the first half. But it dies @ that second half. But some great tracks on this.

Score: 6.6/10
Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake (Mar 6th)

This is an adventure to say the least. He was in his bag WAITING to drop this piece of art. Wearing his inspirations on his sleeve while marking his own legacy.

Truly incredible, some slappers that'll last all year.

Score: 8.8/10
CJ Fly - Rudebwoy (Mar 6th)

This guy carried Pro Era on his back. He came through with an incredible album, hitting all the big points. From story-telling to working with Statik. Everything clicked.

This is what Pro Era needed after a couple duds. Big fan.

Score: 8.7/10
$not - -TRAGEDY+ (Mar 6th)

I can see why people find him interesting, it just didnt click. From his moments of sounding bored and lazy it kinda felt almost unfinished.

There is potential there, but he has yet to reach it. But I'll be on the lookout for him.

Score: 4.3/10
King Von - Levon James (Mar 6th)

I love his energy, & enthusiasm to the streets. But it's just middle of the road drill/trap. Not great lyrically & really it's the same song every track.

Luckily, it's a sound I enjoy so its decent. But I need more sound variety.

Score: 5.8/10
Jay Electronica - A Written Testimony (Mar 13th)

We've waited a decade for this album, and in some aspects it comes through. His message of living his life through religion is painted beautifully.

Problem is that he basically got a Hov collab, which is cheating.

Score: 7.3/10
Jack Harlow - Sweet Action (Mar 13th)

I thought for sure this dude was gonna be another corny white boy. That's not what happens here, this some wavy music.

His effortless sound makes it easy to listen to. So much to look forward too with Harlow in the future.

Score: 7.0/10
Lil Uzi Vert - LUV vs the World 2 (Mar 13th)

Obviously not as great as EA, but this shit still rides. He was riding the beats here along with some fire features. It is less of a mission and more relaxing.

It's not as crazy as EA, but some real slappers here.

Score: 7.1/10
Rich The Kid - BOSSMAN (Mar 13th)

Yeah man, I try with him repeatedly and I cant do it. The production goes crazy, but his same lazy boring flow remains the same.

On the plus, he out-performs all the features but yeah this shit ain't it yet again.

Score: 3.9/10
Don Toliver - Heaven or Hell (Mar 13th)

First time listen, I could have just put on Travis Scott. This dude is a copy-cat, same vocal inflections and auto-croon that Trav uses.

Some tracks ride in the background if you ignoring the lyrics. Just not great.

Score: 4.4/10
Blueface - Find The Beat (Mar 13th)

I like that Blueface is so self-aware of the jokes on him. I always liked the sound personally, and this delivers on some level.

Some of these tracks go hard and I will deff go back to. But a lot of filler, like a whole lot.

Score: 6.3/10
The Weeknd - After Hours (Mar 20th)

This thing is beautiful, front to back. It's a journey of a man who is absolutely heart-broken and cant find his way back to reality. I love this.

This album has no skips, each song has a different element and great sequencing.

Score: 9.2/10
Sada Baby - Skuba Sada 2 (Mar 20th)

Man, this guy is different cat. Sada's rapping ability over literally any beat is insane. It reminds me how effortless Klay Thompson can get hot when it comes to his rap.

The content is a lil samey, but who really cares.

Score: 8.4/10
Childish Gambino - 3.15.2020 (Mar 22nd)

This is a mix of hot shit. This has the aesthetic of Untitled Unmastered and fake deepness of Joyner Lucas. Some production is dope, but vocally it's a mess.

It drags on entirely too long to be a likeable album. Cant do it.

Score: 4.7/10
PND - PARTYMOBILE (Mar 27th)

This album just isn't good. The first nine tracks on this album are half-assed and boring. His singing is sub-par and out of all the R&B artists there are today...

Sorry to the stans, but outside of the last few tracks, this stinks.

Score: 3.7/10
Giveon - TAKE TIME (Mar 27th)

This man came out of nowhere and shocked the hell out of me. His voice is beautiful, the story is relatable and production was great.

Only a short EP of eight songs, but this guy's talent is undeniable. He future is bright.

Score: 8.6/10
Joyner Lucas - ADHD (Mar 27th)

Look, I gave this a fair shot man. It's all over the place, & maybe that's what it meant to do. But the music just isn't good. The hooks are horrid & the rapping... it's Logic-esque.

He had some tracks I thought were solid. But nah.

Score: 3.6/10
Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia (Mar 27th)

This is probably the best pop album this year. It's creative and full of energy. Her voice on this album just screams "this a bop".

Very happy how this came out, really only two tracks that I didn't think were great.

Score: 8.3/10
