been thinking about the exploration of banri’s coming of age thoughts in relation to bntm again... how Banri clings onto the concept of “maturity” thru his r/ship to tsumugi, how he thinks about having this “goal” to meet the standards of an adult— one worthy to stand by Tsumugi

I think some of my favorite bntm fan writing are those that delve into theie struggles in what it means to be in a relationship with such different backgrounds; their age difference, their outlooks in life, what it means to “grow” and what it means to “want”

Their juxtaposition allows for introspection of two different points in life. Banri’s starting out his “adult life” and learning his passion as he takes it head on, and Tsumugi has gone thru his own internal battles thru the years, including love, which has made him more careful

I was thinking about this thread again and like.. No matter which path Banri will take, beside Tsumugi or not, his rship w Tsumugi is an important one for his own growth. It’s so necessary for him to learn from someone so different from himself, in a very slow and caring manner.
