Let's talk books

Here is a list of the books you simply must read this year 2020.
If you are a book snob like me who finds it hard to find books worth reading, this is for you.

Let me know what you think.
I often don't reads books about black people written by white people but this I one book I was excited to read. It's a fictional story of the story of the Chibok girls. It's one of the most chilling stories I've ever read and I must appluade Edna for how she wrote this.
She did her research and told us the story that we never knew but should all know. This story follows one of the kidnapped Chibok girls, her life as Boko Haram victim. The life of other victims & whats happening in Nigeria.

It's worth your time. A must read.

4.8 ⭐
If you are a fan of Sydney Sheldon then you will find home in Jeffery Archers books. He is my favourite male author, one of the most brilliant storytellers in the world. If you liked Cain & Abel then this is for you. This books is brilliant and exciting, a must read.

4.5⭐
The sequel to The Handmaid's Tale.

As someone who read the 1st book and thought the series was better than the book, this book surpasses book 1. It shares how Gilead started but mainly focused on what happens after 15years.

If you want to know Aunt Lydia's position, read this
But I will be honest it didn't wow me, it felt a little too cliche. I had a hard time finishing it because I got bored at some points. It's good for a slow read. A fan of the show would definitely enjoy this.

3.2⭐
I was so eager to read this book. Books by African women fire my spirit and the fact that this was written by a Zambian, Jamaican, Nigerian woman gave me all the chills.

The story focuses on two cousins who are named after grandmother, a great freedom fighter.
I enjoyed this so much because I've been desperate for a book that tells me what it was like during the first years of Zambia's independence and this book gave me a glimpse of that. I specifically enjoyed reading about Bupe & Maggie as kids. It will capture your attention.
I just wish the book focused more on their grandmother. Her part was the most interesting. I wasn't crazy about the last parts of the book. It felt too storybookish. I wish the writer had taken her time with this one, it felt rushed. I wanted more.

3.8⭐
If you don't start laughing at the names in the first ten minutes of this book then you have a problem. This book is hilarious, sad & heartbreaking. The author takes her time to truly explain the crisis in Zim. A must read & worth your money. The Bishop's name will kill u😂 4.0⭐
I got a free copy for an honest review for this book & I must say I liked it. It was a short read, with a few different stories in it. Very Feminists heroins. I will admit I would have liked it if the story focused on the Spiritual marriage story. It was sexy & different.

3⭐
The author has great potential and I can't wait for her next work.
Chinelo has a very sad way of writing. You can feel her sorrow through her work and that's what makes her so brilliant. One of the best writers of this century. This book is filled with stories that will take you on a beautiful sad journey.
It's so powerful.

5⭐
I am not done with this book because I am not ready to part with it. It's the best book I've read this year and one of the best books I've ever come across in my life. Africa women write with their soul, like they are trying to shake you with their words.

This book is everything
I just don't even know how to give this review. From the first chapters Bassey will pull you into her mind and you will not want to leave. Her poetry is gripping and this book feels like home.

All the 5⭐ in the world. You won't regret this book.
You can find the books on Amazon. Some are on sale right now. Please don't DM asking me to send you soft copies I used Kindle. Although you can find Jeffery Archer and Chinelo's books on Anybooks.
