Ight so here’s my thread as to why i believe Yuno is far from a bad character. Gone be covering Personality/Emotions, Gary Sue claims, and Development. This will actually be my second time as my previous thread didnt post correctly so bare with me.
Many say yuno has no personality/emotion bc he doesnt talk alot but in actuality he is an introvert so ofc he will be more reserved. While he is normally calm and collected, there are instances where he expresses himself and this usually involves competing
Yuno is overly competitive and a sore loser, so while he dislikes losing he actually has fun a lot of the times when it comes to competing and thus brings out a more fun side too him when its ofc not a life or death situation occurring
A lot of people say he is cocky, but this is more likely due to him being introverted and calm so his confidence comes off as arrogance, but i feel him recognizing noelle, charmy, asta, and gathering magic knights on the way back to the kingdom shows he recognizes there value +
There importance not only to him but the clover kingdom as a whole.
Many say he lacks emotion to others that are not asta that is simply not true the man jus not loud but he clearly cares for his comrades even before this latest arc

Also why he wants to be WK in case its needed
Next is “he is a plot device for asta”. Despite that being every rivals purpose in a shonen, yuno character while competing against asta is often a bit independent of asta imo. When they are in the same arc and not dighting together yuno often steals the show
And ofc his best interactions are with the BROTHER who doubles as the mc he grew up with and the person who broke him out of his shell
He actually plays the role of rival well in not only motivating asta but lifting him up and believing in him the most as well.
Yeah this is it for the personailty/emotion/dependent on asta section, oh here some more emotion for yall
GARY SUE section this shi was really yall weakest arguement. He trained for everypowerup he got and the in regards to bell, she chose him. He also has his own adventures and spent them same childhood years training just like asta.
The difference was yuno had magic and was talented. Talent + hardwork will always yield results so it shouldnt be surprised that he is strong. Another aspect of being a gary sue is having life easy... Yeah Aight. Not too mention the squad was full of traitors n killed the WK
Development section. So yall right he didnt get a lot of development because he made a huge jump from crybaby to confident early on. But what he lacks in that, he makes up for in consistent characterization as I have shown in the thread. But in this arc the development is coming
What we have gotten so far seems to be that he is learning how to open up around his squad and as soon as that happened there were killed off so he will likely never forgive himself for that and struggle dealing with this throughtout the arc.
In conclusion, Is Yuno perfect? No. But he is far from a bad character he jus lacked an arc focused on himself to make everything i showed easier for the viewer to see. In conclusion after this arc, STAN YUNO.
